Great Available Domains and Website Idea Website
My website is one that lists available domain names I have founds and pairs them with ideas I have for those domains, webthink.co.uk.
I would very much appreciate any comments on the site.
I have tried to keep it as neat and simple as possible. I cut out any sort of front page and just made the first page the latest available domain so that the visitor gets straight to what they're there for.
I decided to show 5 random available domain names in a side-bar so that the visitor may start clicking on these domain names and start navigating the database in a way that avoids just clicking "next" repeatedly. This was inspired by jayisgames.com, which presents several random games on the left- I found this a good way to browse all the games.
The background CSS image for the template div is probably a bit heavy, but considering that is the only image, I am not too bothered.
Thanks in advance for any views

This is a good idea but I think the design could use some help.
For starters, the green colour scheme is rather garish. I think this would be better if you took just one shade of green (probably the brightest background colour) and used it with other colours.
You've made a valiant effort to be creative with the layout but I don't think it's quite working. The diagonals seem to be quite random and create odd sections of white space. Looking at white space is a good tool for design. In this case, of course, the space is green but it still has the same effect. Look, for example, at that odd trangular spot where the four boxes meet in the top-left area. I think you should simplify this and reduce the number of angles.
Now, concentrating on the actual content. When I first loaded the page I didn't see a "next" link at all, only previous. That confused me. I also thought those links could be more prominent. Putitng them up underneath the actual content would be better. The sidebar listing the random domains is too small - the domains are overlapping into the next line. They should all fit on one line.
It looks like you've got a lot of great ideas here. I know there are a lot of webmasters out there just looking for a project to take on. You could even expand this into a wider repository of website ideas. Visitors could submit their own website ideas and webmasters could browse a larger database for ideas that interest them.

Thank you very much for your review of my site! I very much appreciate the time that must have gone into writing that.
I have tried to take in everything you have said, and I have editted the colours and the general look of the site.
What are your opinions now? Fixed?! fingers crossed.
I'm just going to add some more available domains.
I guess once I've got the look right i just need to get the site better known, and I'm not sure how to do that.
Anyway, thanks again- and I'd really appreciate any other comments from anyone.

Much better! I would just make those borders a little thinner and add some more padding. I'm not thrilled with the brown really but it's okay (try a really light blue instead...)

OK, I shall try a light blue instead of the brown later today and I'll be sure to trim those borders a bit. I agree and I am not too comfortable with the brown and was actually wondering if different shades of green would look better know the layout is more organised. I'll post later with my choice between more green and light blue and I look forward to hearing your opinion again.
Thanks

Ok then, I have updated the colours, and I like this scheme better.
Any thoughts?

Hey, sorry to take so long to get back to you on this Matt. I think I liked the last version a little better. It was more interesting graphically. This is very boxy. I would try to tear out some of the lines between boxes and make it blend together more.
Also, there should still be a little more padding in the content box.

Don't worry about taking long to reply, I'm just glad that you are helping get the look right.
And so voilà, I've made it slightly different again. What do you think?
I would also appreciate the opinions of anyone else.

I like the use of green, but can you center the page? The sideway search word, could be rotated 180 degress so that it faces in the opposing direction and can be viewed better, The random links can have a division or something to make it look more organized.
(Im using FF BTW)... The bottom text container would be better if you increase the padding and justify the content, and make the text color white so that it blends well with the whole design... Well you asked for other comments, im looking at your thread everytime I get in...

Thank you very much demonhale for the suggestions. Centering the page is hard given that I have used absolute positioning, so I haven't bothered- I reckon it's fine over on the left like that anyway. I have rotated the Search image and seperated the random links with a bottom border. I justified the bottom box and used white to make it blend in with the design.
So there you are!

Looks ok now, btw you could wrap the whole absolute divs with another div that is aligned center or use percentage paddings to center the page. (just an idea anyways). Lets wait for some other comments, its my personal opinion anyways it will make it look much better later...

Moreover also give some attention to your keywords. The title is great for personal use but not for search engines.

IN an attempt to make my site rank better for keywords like "website ideas" & "available domain list", I made the homepage a paragraph of introduction, and ensured all links contain keywords.

I suggest you add how many domain names there are on the bottom to the left of previous next. Maybe something like 3 of 60 domains etc. I would also center the site. Other then that great job.

I very much like the simplicity of the design, it's not the best out there but it indefintley serves its purpose.
The idea in itself is a good one though i'd perhaps take note on a few of the above ideas.

Thank you,
I have taken note of all the ideas.
Some time I may find the time to come at the design a different way so I can centre the whole page.
