Graphics Universe(redone)
Well thanks for all of your comments last time. There were a lot of issues with the site and I have taken care of most of them. The biggest one I think was all that blank space that was left at the bottom. Check out the site and let me know what you think of it. http://www.graphics-universe.com
Thanks,

graphicald,
Looks good! I like the color scheme and the graphics are A+. Still that issue of large amounts of white space. Other than that, I liked it.

Thanks for the comments, I'm going to split the text menu (the one on the right) and place the other half running down the left side. That should free up a lot of that white space. The hardest part about making a site like this, other than the long hours, which you all know about, is getting people to find your site. It would be such a shame if all of these graphics went to waste.
Anyone have a good idea as to how I can get the site around a little more?
Once again, thanks

1) Some of the edges of your graphics are a little jagged and blurry. They just need a little touch up.
2) The logo is cool, but it's lacking one more color. I think you should try and put some of that green like on the side menu into it. That would look sharp.
3) You can eliminate some of the white space at the bottom of each page by making the right menu wider, and making the content area a little smaller.
4) On the tutorials page you should link the name of the tutorial, and get rid of the "Review tutorial" text.
5) Why not try adding a small logo above the menu? Something that says "GU" on it which won't make the menu look way up there on the page.
Overall looks good...

I'm working from home today, and this came up pretty fast on my (usually very slow) dial up. That's impressive - graphics sites usually take forever. I also really like how you've used a scalable layout. Again, graphic intensive layouts usually don't do that.
I agree that you need some sort of logo at the top. As I said before, it would be really good to do some of these tutorials with simpler graphics programs (like PSP). People who are borrowing other peoples graphics probably don't know how to make their own and probably don't have Photoshop. Heck, they may not even know what "Supporting Multiple Layers" means. It might be a good idea to suggest a basic freebie editor that will allow people to add text and show them how to use it.
It would be nice to see some more advanced tutorials here in the future.

Megan, you bring up some great points. I have already downloaded a trial version of PSP and I will probably just head over to Best Buy and pic up a version of it also. The hardest part is finding the time to do the tutorials. All of a sudden I have been flooded with work, which is a good thing, but not for my web site.
This brings up another topic, hosting. If anyone out there would like to write some tutorials using PaintShop Pro, please contact me. I can host your site, and hook you up with an email to go with it.
The reason the logo is so small, and two one color is that I wanted to keep the graphics down. As you can see, the site loads pretty fast for most people, and I think that is the greatest part about the site. I am going to add another color to the logo and hopefully it will bring a little more visual appeal to the site.
Thanks for all the comments. Hopefully I will be able to make some changes today.
