Graphic Forum Style Change

Ok, I worked my fingers to the bone n my forums to try and get a more of a "graphically elite" design, to negative the clean design Justin made first. (You know like a negative and positive image).

Anyways, I THINK I did well, and I wanna see what you peeps think. I find this to be one of my top works so far.

And for the navigation I'm going to add a light glow on mouseover. But I'm too lazy to find preloading code and mouseover code quite yet.

Very crisp and clean images
I have a slight scroll bar at 800x600 on IE5, without scrolling the banner word says "graphic forum", but with scrolling you get the "s" at the end.
There is a blank drop down box at the very top center of the page (doesnt show up in netscape, but i know forums dont disply well in NS4.7)
the links "gallery, tutorials and contact" arent linked.

Looks very professional but is hard coming from one forum to another as its kind of like comparing, even though you dont.
I gotta ask, is that green thing anything?

The green thing, is just that, a thing.

I can fix the header , I probably have the %'s missaligned..

The emply dropdown is to select different styles.. Smiling

But, glad you liked it..

wow! it is greeeeen. Laughing out loud but I like it. i do think it would look nice to have another accent color instead of the light green for the rollover but i am at a loss as to what to suggest.

That "thing" at the top will definatley be a conversation piece.

I think you should do the title at the top, "graphic forum", in a different color instead of black and jazz it up a bit but that is just me.

The green bar across the top is really nice.

Good job!!

I was going to use a dark navy blue, (thats what color the textis), but it didnt work out, so I kept it as it is..

Glad you guys like it.. One hting about it though, is making all those buttons sure is tedious.. Smiling

Thanks for the good reviews..

I have to say that the 'thing' looks like something out of 'The day of the triffids' and looks like it's gonna burst open or something! Wink I also think that the font for the 'graphics forum' is a bit plain. I too get a small horizontal scrollbar at 800*600.

I thought the "thing" was a califlower or cabbage at first :martian:

I don't know what it is, so dont ask.

I fixed the horizontal scroll bar.

One of you mentioned the front is too plain, what do you suggest?

Its not the general font, it was the "graphic forum" font (banner)that was mentioned.

I was going to sugest a "arty" type font like BD merced, or Aunt Judy but then thought it wouldnt really suit, maybe just make the "g" and "f" capitals and add some colour to it? unless anyone else has some ideas?

I just think that the font is too plain and needs a bit of life to it. I'm not on my normal pc or I'd play with a few different ones but something more stylised I think would work.

ps. I still get a horizontal scrollbar at 800*600 javascript resized.(can't we shorten that to hsb for furture reference as it's so long to type & I always spell it wrong first time!!)
