OK, I think I've just about covered the rules about reviewing others sites before posting here!! LOL
What are your views on this site? The colours and general look have already been agreed and set by the committee (my Dad is director) and I know in NS4. there is an issue with the quick navigation throwing off the links to the right (any suggestions to resolve??) but I just wondered what you all thought of it. The links don't work and the index page is just a holding page for the time being.

Well, it's about time you've posted a site for review:)
I think this looks nice overall. Different choice of colours with the mauve or whatever you want to call it. Purple is my favourite colour
I think the biggest problem with this site is the navigation. That drop down is confusing with so many options there and the icons need more explanation. Definitely rethink the way that's all set-up. You could do icons with text like we did with the TWF navigation at the top here.
Is the logo something that's already been created for the company? If so, I guess there's nothing you can do about it but it is rather boring. The flag thing is okay but the text could use some work IMO. I also think that the top header area could stand to be a little bigger. The whole page seems a little bit unbalanced that way. It would also allow you to make those photos bigger and more distinctive.

Julia,
The website looks very nice, good job! My only complaint would be that the links are a little hard to separate from the text (since they're the same color only with underline). I also agree with Megan about the header, maybe if you made it just a little bigger, you'll have more room, but it looks good the way it is too.
[edit]
Maybe you should change the scrollbar to white with purple lines instead of dark purple as it is now, it takes too much attention and does not go very good with the site

Where is your "REVIEW REQUEST:" ? j/k.

Cheers.

Unfortunately I'm not really going to be able to change much as they all love it as it is and has passed several 'navigation test' with their members and I did have the symbols with text next to them but they thought it looked cluttered. You don't know how many variations we've been through before we got to this one! The logo also stays as that's been their logo for donkeys years and they wont change it, I did try!
I do agree about the scrollbar though. I'll change the colours but I'd ditch it if it was up to me I'll also try something different with the bottom links.

Don't touch those bottom links!!
Have you considered making the nav at the top have a different color for the page that you are on so that you can tell where on the site you are at?
Nice work as usual Julia.

Nice
Not sure if the text or links (content links) could do with changing, it is all very purple so maybe black text in the top main section could break it a little, and /or swap the colors of "our work" "our dreams" with the bold text under it.
The "dude" on the background, is that part of the GVA thing? reminds me of the YMCA

Just for the record, I never said you should change the bottom navigation links, but the 2 purple links with underlines. They look too much like the actual text in my opinion.

The dude in the background is actually from the gold circle thing on the logo, they are supposed to represent the community.
I'll try it with black text in the main section and that should make the links stand out more and I'll see about changing the bold text and header colours around.
