The good, the bad, the ugly...all welcome!
Hello All,
Visit http://www.jrjoystick.com and let me know what you think.
I am interested in feedback on both the design and the product.
If you have any problems, info about your platform and web browser would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

I'm the bad, or the ugly, take your pick, the others will be along shortly
First impressions, had no idea what it was about, and the pixelated left colum image was really hard to workout if its an image or not.
There is a scroll bar at 800x600 on IE5 and Netscape4.7
your "order" page isnt about ordering, its about pricing, even the index page has "price" name link, but also has order at the top, choose one or the other. when a # of units is selected is very hard to make out what it says.
is the picture top right a train? my attention is drawn to it but cant figure out what exactly it has to do with anything. I hope the animated text on the index page isnt important, hitting stop on the browser didnt work but luckily you have a "stop animation" in tiny tiny letters on there.
If you made the body margins 0 you could proabably loose a lot of the (sideways) scrolling, the photo etched joystick thing needs to go, use either a blank color or your product like the pricing/order page has. maybe add the links at the bottom of the page too.
I think the product in general could be a good idea, not sure as I dont use a laptop, maybe a picture of someone using it could help sell it better

Welcome to TWF John,
We do ask that before you ask for a critique on your site that you help us out & review at least three other sites posted here. This not only helps them by getting a fresh pair of eyes on their site but will also help you to get ideas and read what others have said.
Looking at the site you definitely need to reduce the size of the images. Your table is set to 898 pixels wide and really you need to stick to a maximum of 770 or there abouts to prevent horizontal scroll bars.
What is the left side image supposed to be? And the circle image is nice but what relevence does it have to the site? Can't make it out properly either.
As for the other pages I don't personally like table borders showing like that. Don't know but they always look naff to me and pull a site down instantly in appeal. Maybe try boxing in the page from the top image down the rigt side then just have the content in the main part of the tabel.
Oh, I've just realised what the left image is, an embossed version of the joystick picture. Don't think it works very well.
Oredr is definitely confusing, I thought you could buy online with that there, although I suppose you do say secure online ordering is coming soon, so I'll let you off just this time!
Just a couple of other things :
If you use numbers for colours always make sure you put a # infront otherwise Netscape may not display the colour.
Specify a font, veranda or ariel are best
Don't use bold unless you are highlighting a heading or important word.
Very good start and just needs a bit of tweeking.

I liked the design. If you make it better to view in 800*600 resolution that will do it for me.
One other thing you should do something about is the lower right corner of the picture of the computer is not round like the three other corners.
I saw on the first page what the product was because I knew I was looking for a product. If I did not know this was a product page I'm not sure if I would have seen the littel red thing.
The product seem to be something we laptom users could take advantage of. I liked it. The price was about right compared to Norwegian prices. But I think it would cost to much in freight to buy it from Norway.

You definatly need to do something about that image on the left side, and maybe the one on the upper right(not sure what it is)
And as said above, set your margins to zero.

First of all thanks for the responses. It truly does help. The margins is a good suggestion and that's one of the things I have to change.
True, the picture in the upper right isn't obviously related but not totally unrelated either. If you look closely it is a picture of modes of transportation, planes, trains and cars --> laptops are mobile computers often used while travelling---> jrjoystick is a product that allows for the maximum pointer functionality on laptops with minimum space available... hence the connection.
Somethings I do intend to change include the border on the deeper pages, the order link on the first page and organize the pricing page more effectively(once the merchant number rolls in) and finally to add some text links at the bottom of the page.
