I think you make great use of white space. The site is easy to read, but I will say the banner/graphic at the top of the page could look a little more professional (I'm one to talk!). And there seems to be an awfully lot of blue, you may want to try and break it up a bit more. It seems a little too bright for my eyes. In all, I think you are off to a good start, keep up the good work!

I feel like I'm swimming through an ocean. I think you have way overdone the blue color scheme. Try sticking to a few main shades of blue and use those throughout. I personally don't believe in "templates" for websites. Each website should be personally designed according to their purpose and content. Also, you have a lot of little "images" placed around that don't fit in, on the two sidebars.

I am glad that you have used DIVs in your layout, but I don't understand the use of tables within them. Nothing in your entire website (layout-wise) requires the use of tables.

I don't know where you're headed with this company...whether it's just templates and banners or if you are interested in doing web design for specific companies in the future, but you will want to charge for your services in the future. The saying has always been "you get what you pay for" and most people recognize that these days so they know if they get something free, it's not going to be great, so they are willing to pay for a great webmaster service. Also, investing in a good hosting plan/domain would be a great idea. I can tell you that I generally stay away from websites hosted for free if I can tell, especially something like a subdomain or a .tk domain.

Good luck with your website. Wink

hi
i like the hover effect on the left menu
about gmarz lands to a 404 page
the subtitles for each section are overdone, they are hard to read
your website is neither centered or aligned to left, i have like 50 pixels whitespace from the left and then there is a large whitespace to the right. (it is because i have a bigger screen i think) Try viewing your website in a different computer to see how it works
the logo is good
there are too many background styles, stick to one or two.

Quick thoughts:

  • Way too much blue
  • Ditch the animation
  • Why is that right column there if it's blank?

- yeah, i also think that's it is too much blue..so any other colors that you can suggest to compliment the blue color?

- yup, i'll fix the animation..it is actually my first flash banner that i made

- i am still thinking of what content should i add to the right sidebar

Just lose the right alltogether until you find something to put in there.

You can use this to help pick your colors. Just chose from Monochromatic (which is what you're getting away from), contrasting, triad, tetrad, or analogic colos schemes. You can also pick colos scheme styles on there. It's a pretty sweet thing to check out and should help you a lot.

Well, before I even clicked on the link I was gonna say something about Free Website Providers, and then the website was down; so now definitely have grounds:- PAY FOR YOUR SITE!!!

I don't suppose it's that important really, but for a professional website design company? And how many of them have a "cool guestbook"? Just my twopenny's (?) worth....

I'll agree, much better than before. Still too much blue I think. But that can be taken care of by changing the text color. Since blue is the default link color, people tend to see blue text and think it's a link.

And the whtie text is too hard to read. Just needs to be darker.

Yes, much better. The layout and infrastructure's all there now. From here it can only get to perfection as you improve on little bits and bobs....

  • Get rid of Times New Roman. Use something like Verdana or Trebuchet MS....
  • Get a proper logo or use a cleaner font

Other than those two minor things - really good!

I still want to know what font it is though. I like it.

- Change the text color to a deeper, almost black color.
- less gradients
- change the logo font to match the rest of your site. A good font site is http://dafont.com
- you should be able to click the thumbnails to preview/download

Good start.

I have no issue with blue schemes in general, but it is all about subtelty IMHO. The new site is much better than the old, but you could use half the gradient you are currently using and it would probably look more stylish and less overbearing.

Subtle colour use would alow you to use different colours (or variations of the same color) in the different boxes.

FWIW, I'd also try and get the navigation across the top (under the banner) to free up space so you can have the featured design tool cell, at the top.

You could then have three even cells (in different colors or shades) which might look more balanced and less umm..blue.

I think you could improve the font scheme a little bit and change the background to something a bit darker.

Nice site Marvz. As usual it's clear and easy to look at and well designed.

Your site is looking really good and very well designed. My only concern would be for you attracting visitors to your site that want to download your templates and flash banners etc. I think that will take time as you are competing with a lot of other sites. Best of luck.

It's looking better. I think the design is good and the flash banner you have created is good also. Your site is much quicker to load than it was yesterday when I last looked.
