Well, that's the 999. copy of the one-million-dollar-page.
Doesn't look professional to me. All those blinkig elements ...looks like one of these bad animated-gif-sites.
The "new" idea to give peoples the chance to sell their pixels later is quite good - but not enough to convince me to buy a pixel. I don't see why this clone should have more success than other clones of the original site.
Advice: You need your own concept, a theme and less bells and whistles.
The reason it worked the first time was because it was so simple, adding animations and dark colours works against you.
Why not be unquie, try use the ads and ASCII art together, come up with art works instead of just a page.
You aren't and the first and doubt you'll be the last.

- Inappropriate website name. Why would I want to have anything to do with something experimental? This may not be the message you are trying to get across, but as a first time visitor, that's exactly what I understand.
- Animated gifs like that are cheap and nasty. I left your site as soon as I saw them.
That looks really bad... the word "free" blinking ontop of the ".20" made me close the tab really quick I would say you need to start over. And next time don't include anything on this image http://www.virtualrealtyexperiment.com/assets/images/vrefree.gif the flashing shadow has got to be the worst thing about it.
I really don't see this site going anywhere. Like everyone else said. It's been done. Move on and quit trying to get rich by copying what made someone else rich. They got rich off of it because it was a new idea, not because they copied someone elses idea.

I don't hate it, but that's because I have not seen this before... I guess I've been away from the quick buck scene for a while.
The top banner looks a little unprofessional. Like the other people have mentioned, you should use this concept on a page that offers the visitors something. Maybe have a 5 x 20 set of pixels and actually provide a service on the rest of the page.
Did you mean to spell reality wrong or am i missing something?
Whats the purpose in even giving a critique that will be full of other people's adverts, of their own design? Just seems like this thread is a sly form of promotion.
As people have said, use your imagination.

Rob, I don't think he's talking about reality. It's realty. As in, you pay and then "own" the pixels on the site.
Anyway, this looks like a tacky version of milliondollarhomepage.com to me. Not too much can really be done to improve it, except having someone overhaul your header.

Sorry, but I don't think it will work.

" Your images and links should go on the sight within 48 hrs of purchase."
Typo there. The copy doesn't sound professional at all, either.
Agree that we don't need another site like this.

It was a great idea - once.
Prediction: No one will ever make any money with a pixel site again - ever.
(At least, I hope not.)

- What do I get out of it? Pixels on a website? Who actually clicks them? How are you publicising this website? http://www.urltrends.com/viewtrend.php?url=virtualrealtyexperiment.com - Search engines don't like it, why should I?
Enlighten me, show me the wow factor.. I'm sorry, but I just don't feel the fire.
