Flash Intro -- Do you like?
We just added a new Flash quick intro to our web site... very curious what others think of it. Most curious if the load time is ok.

(Flash 4 required)
Let me know.
Thanks!

Which software did you use to make your Flash intro?

jackchen,
to my knowledge, the only software that can create Flash animations is Flash . It is a program created by Macromedia (http://www.Macromedia.com).
They offer a free trial demo. It is really fun to use, try it!

Deb,
Very nice...load time was excellent on 56k connection.
My only suggestion would be to slow the timing down on the text that appears (slow the fade out time). runs so fast that it is almost subliminal. Might work, but think it would be better a little slower.

The loading time is unbelievable.
YOu can also make flash animations with Macromedia Freehand. Thats great if you want to have better drawing tools.

Software -- ummm We cheated We used http://www.drewmedia.com
Glad to hear the load time was on target!
We were goaling for the fast on the 'chitter chatter' as it's all tags from the Community Forums and wanted to make it something you really have to view many times before knowing what all was in it (see something new everytime type of thing)
I may ask for some of the longer ones to slow down just a tad... but not sure yet
Thanks again for checking it out and giving your feedback!

Load time was like 3 seconds here. Also the presentation thing there was unbelieveable I have no clue how you people do this kind of stuff. I loved the music...where did you get that?

Nice.
Very effective - I think that the quick text is great... it matches the theme and sound - I don't think you should slow it down it all...

I've never tried to use Freehand... BUT, as Flash is vector-based, it gives you GREAT flexibility. You can create things in Freehand and import them *retaining* their vector qualities
For the record, we used Flash
sixflags--We've purchased enough music making software to kill a small horse.

Experience the web--it's a whole lot more fun that way!

As you might know Flash and Freehand are both Macromedia products. In the latest Version of Freehand you can export Freehand layers as Flash files. Thats nice if you want to do some really difficult drawing, since thats what freehand it made for.
In about 99% of all cases Flash is enough, though.

I prefer to not discuss the fees but can say that Flash design doesn't come cheap....
Drewmedia was quick! Once we had figured out what we wanted it to be, they had it completed in a matter of days....
I highly recommend drewmedia.com as they were *very easy* to work with and dedicated to say the least!
