First website, please review
Hi, This is my very first "real" site. By "real" I mean because it's the first one I make for an actual client and not just for fun. I'm almost completely done with this site. Check it out and let me know what you think of it. If you see anything that you think I should change or anything, let me know. Thanks
Oliver

Hey, we can't look at your site if we don't have the URL! Please post it and I'm sure someone will get back to you.

the most important thing: the first page needs too much time to load. with 128k it took nearly one minute...
you should definitly try to make it faster. i don't know, which part caused the long loading-time, the images seems to be small enough.
the logo looks good, i like it.
i don't get the thing with the colors on the left side... what's the relation to the music-'shop'?
most of the text is spanish (isn't it?) but still, you write 'click on image...' or 'we recommend...'. don't you want to make it all the same language?
as i said before, i don't speak spanish. that's probably why i didn't get, what the shop is actually doing. fix instruments? sell instruments? i clicked on 'informacion' but only got the phone number, and i don't want to call to puerto rico (would cost too much from europe only for asking that little thingy... ).
my statement...

Needs a lot of work...
The rollovers need to go... who wants to see messy airbrush effects? They also look pretty bad.
The animated gif flag also needs to go. You can still put a flag there, but make is smaller, maybe 60 pixels high, and flat, in the upper right hand corner maybee
The main image featured is ok, but you should feature more then one guitar, maybe 4. Make them all about an inch high. This will show people that the client has many things to offer, etc.
Or maybe just ad 2 images horizontal (side by side) and a beginning text splash, telling what the company is about, etc...
The oval buttons have a nice, shiny effect to them but don’t seem to fit.
Make an English version of this site. If your unsure how to do so you can get free english/spanish translators on any major download site (download.com) for free. Just make 2 versions of the page, with links at the bottom, maybe different flags representing each language.

i think that i would have to agree that the some english and mostly spanish is silly. That is simple to change.
I tend to feel that a site should be available to everyone and not just to people using IE Or Navigator with so and so pixels, etc. And to post a message is silly- nobody changes anything because a site recommends so.
good luck,
raven
P.S. WHat is taking so long to load up?

the rollovers are still there because my client wants them. He does airbrush design and he likes it so I just left it there. He also really liked the flag too so I can't take that one off. Thanks for the hint about some of the English in the site, I forgot about that. Thanks

I think it is quite good for a first professional site, they're harder to do because it's based on what someone else wants and they usually don't know WHAT they want. Personally, I don't think the colored button rollover is yucky, it's pretty effective. The airbrush image is just kind of strange though. If your client wants you to keep it you could make a different one that is a little cleaner, you could put words on it or something to make it tie in more, just don't be redundant. The animated flag should probably be either much, MUCH smaller, or not there at all.. animations are usually a bad idea fo professional websites in the first place. I disagree with sho, however, the one image is just fine. Adding more would not only slow down loading but it would make it seem cluttered and harder to look at. There's also a big space in the table between the images and the lower banner that makes it look funny. Uhm, one last thing - I reccomend ditching the music, it's fitting and all but it probably makes the page take longerto load.

thanks, really liked your reply. The music was by his request though.
