OK,
I have had this domain for a while and decided to put something up.

http://www.internetupdates.com

Please be aware it is lacking content. I want to know what you think about the layout/navigation/colors ? Thanks!

Also, the only other page I made active was the portfolio page.

I personally don't like the green & blue. I would stick with one or other and have a white main background with the table border defining the space.

The logo also needs working on as the blue looks like it's bleeding into the yellow, unless that's what you tried for!

Julia - if life was meant to be easy Michael Angelo would have painted the floor....

i also think, the blue and green don't go well together. and i don't really like the blue pattern. it looks like one of those windows-desktop-patterns... but i'd prefer the blue over green.
i like the logo too, just thinking, if it's good for a company logo if it looks like breaking into pieces?

anyway, let us know, how it's going.

OK,
Well I like the blue and green, but I will try reversing the colors. Thanks.

The colours work for me actually. Then again, maroon and red apparently work for me also so take this with a grain of salt Smiling

Hey, glad to see that TWF link on there!

Overall this layout is a little bland to me. The logo is boring, the navigation is boring, the content is boring. Maybe it'll be better once you get more content but the layout could still use a lot of work.

The colour scheme isn't really that bad (except for the yellow - make that either darker or lighter and much softer) - could be used more effectively but I don't really have a problem with those colours.

Font problems - just don't use serif fonts. They don't look good on screen, especially for navigation. Well, not always...

Something really weird is going on with your navbar in NS 6 when I try to mouseover it. Weird... it doesn't like DW's mouseover script or something. If you're just going to use plain text (no effects or anything) you might as well just use plain text insead of graphics.

I tried loading N6 on my computer the other day and it wouldn't cooperate. So I am running 4.77, and the rollovers are fine there. What type of fonts do you suggest for navigation?

I think I am going to use a mouse over popup for the navigation.

Thanks.

Well, you probably won't have too many visitors using it so you might want to just not bother for now anyway.

You mean like a dHTML script with drop downs? That would be good - verdana, arial, and helvetica are good fonts for plain text. Just make sure that if you're doing that you use the same one for everything (using two of the same type of font in one design is a big no-no. Like using two different serifs or two different script fonts.)
