For a first website it's pretty good.
Although, the marquee (scrolling text acroos the top is jerky and slow) and some of the pages are real slow at loading, the torn apart image (torna.gif) is 619.96 KB for example.
Some pages start with the verdana font but change at the bottoms, also the bottom stuff is centered.
The teddy bears need a title above them, even if something like "Buy a bear to help support the Alexandrea fund" or something
As for the content, the first sentence doesn't do you any favors "On This Day of October 31, 1997, Alexandrea was removed from the offenders custody.". Seems to start off as an abuse case. It's a touching story but seems incomplete. Maybe more of a summary on just the first page and more indepth on following pages.
The navigation is middle left while top on other pages, maybe keep the navigation at top left so is familar throughout.
Your table widths are all over the place, some 800, some 760 ... the larger ones causing horziontal scroll bars at 800x600 and lower, you'd be better off setting to width="100%"
there are a couple of html errors, if you have the latest firefox you can view source and they will be highlighted in red (bold red, not normal red), mainly missing = (equals) and a copy of > (ending brackets), if you don't have/use firefox (you need to get it mozila.com) if you add a DOC tag you can validate it at w3c.org and your errors will be showen to you (trick is only do the first couple then revalidate).
Good luck

i agree for a first site it is pretty good, you even used css for the links which is nice.
here are my suggestions
- i would left align the links on the left of the page.
- lower the banner into the white background and change the text colour
- i dont really like the blue background, maybe keep it a solid colour or use a different pattern
other than that for a first site it is very good

i like the plainness of the page... but if i were you i would use a different font for the content and i would use bigger and more understandable links which are on the left side...

Firstly, congratulations on your first website.
Now, shouldn't 'course' be used here instead of "coarse"?
Also, your navigation links on the left, could probably be left or right aligned, it doesn't really look too good centred. Could also try to up the font size there too.
Try to have all the pages on your site to look the same, when I visit your "Colour of Paradox" page for example, it looks very different from the home page. If you try to make it look the same as the home page, then, it will give a better feel of consistancy with your site.
Good job for a first site, keep up the great work.

Hello,
You have a good site going there. Everything seems to function & the layout is fine.
I would like to speak to your message, which is the meat of your site. I can tell that you have passion for your cause and that you honestly want justice for yourself and your daughter. That is very clear.
However, in order to get the attention of those who can help you, you MUST have all of the text rewritten by someone who writes English fluently, and who has a law background. My suggestion is to go to the nearest college or university and ask for volunteer help from the law school. My guess is that you'll get help because students can use this sort of experience as class credit, or even for the basis of a thesis.
Your writing is rambling, with incorrect grammar and structure, and because of that it is difficult to understand how your story unfolds. As a visitor, I'm just plain confused and am not convinced that I should contribute. There may be others who feel that way who would otherwise have supported you with a donation.
Well, anyway, please think about it & good luck!
mdancy

The site is simple with no difficulty reading the fonts. however you have to do something about the positioning of the links. I will suggest re-positioning to somewhere around the top for prominence. They are too obscure with no special effect.

if that's your first webiste then WELL DONE!!!
The page is just slightly too big in 800x500 screen size. You should adjust it.

my 2 cents...
Its a Good 1st try, you can however use something else for that scrolling text, a static flag could be better, animated gifs hurt the eyes, also the header texts could be a little friendly, All and All not really bad, needs just little tweaks...

I wish my first website was as good as this one. It was about 6 years ago and ugly as anything. I think its hard when you first start out not to over do it. I had lots of flashing things making the site quite distracting from the content. I see a bit of this in your site with the animated flags and scrolling text. You did a much bettr job though.
I think most of the others here are correct. The image sizes needs to be reduced more then anything else.

I feel I would like to help you promote your site a bit. I don't usually give any SEO secrets away but it is a deserving cause. Add some text at the very top of your page detailing your most used keywords and add these keywords as much as you can to the body text of your page. Add as many new pages to your site as possible and link all your pages and text using anchor links. If your not sure how to anchor link, you will find many site's out there that will show how to do it. Good luck in your endevours.

Great site,
Great reasons... I have looked through your site and by the way was easy to get around "navigate", I read almost every page, very good reading by the way, but heart felt also. I did not realize this went on...Yes I have read about it, but till you see it you have no idea.. I did in fact sign your petition, and to the State who has your child...."Shame on you ! - there is only one word that could magnify the damage you have done and are currently doing, Hitler" ring a bell ?...now back to the web designer, Our prayers will be with you always, In Christ name, David-www.ranks1.com

I liked the site alot. Being a "newbie" myself I was very impressed with it. I have 5 kids of my own so it really was sad to know this goes on. Hopefully your message will get to the people that will make a difference. Make the changes the pro's suggest and it will help. You might try a program like "linksmanager" to get more links...I'm trying the program and it seems to be very good. Just a suggestion though. I think a white background would make your page stand out more...the blue border bleeds into the blue background.
