What is wrong with my site? Some people say it is disorganized, others don't like the image. Some said it is a good find, but needs some work. These are all on Family Guy forums.

What should I do to improve it?
Are the Google Ads in good spots?
Do I need more/better content?
What about the WordPress Template?
I am adding more clips weekly, I am expecting around 700 through todays most current episode. Will this be enough? Most sites with clips have no more than 10-15.
Any other advice to help me with the looks, orginization, and SEO would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lucas Sawyer

Although I like the idea of using a blog format for perhaps the front page, the template is too 'bloggish', if you know what I mean. At first glance it appears to be a blog and not an actual website.

The navigation should be under the banner to make it more noticeable. I didn't see the navigation at first, which again led me to believe it wasn't actually a site, just a blog.

Lastly, the 'MOVIE' link doesn't belong in the navigation. Because it isn't actually located on your site, it isn't a page you can navigate to on your site, leaving it unsuitable for the navigation. Perhaps the sidebar would be better, or some sort of ad or something else. Wink

Ok, I'm at 1024x768, and I have to scroll before i see any content.

Then I scroll back to the top to click on the links for "clips". I'm thinking it's not goign anywhere becuase the entire screen looks the same when the new page loads.

I would adjust this first and formost.

Hmm...that doesn't make much sense, because I viewed it at 800x600 and I was able to see content without scrolling at all...

And now I've viewed it at 1024x768 and over half of the page is the content. Smiling

I noticed that WordPress has some bugs in it. Just a fact of life when you are using such a program. Thanks everyone for the timely replies, I do agree that I need to change the format.

The is is pretty good. The first thing i noticed and didn't like was the how there is a double image at the top (of Stewie) this just looks messy and gives the site a feeling of being unfinished.

I get the same as Greg using Opera 8.01.

I also thought it was odd that this is set up as a weblog. I tried to use the categories links on the right to access the clips but that didn't get me where I wanted to go. The navbar should be under the header - that would make it easier to get around.

The clips themselves should be labelled more descriptively. I'm not going to sit here and watch all of them - someone may also be looking for a specific scene or something. This should be described more clearly.

The design is okay. It's nice and minimalist which I like.

Awsome posts guys, I will rework my site. I noticed the double image on some machines too, but the one I am working on does not show it, so I don't know how I can fix it. I have no idea why it is doing that, so I will post something in a WordPress Forum. The WordPress template I am using does not allow much modification without knowing PHP. I setup my site as a blog to help with rankings, I guess it is the best and fastest way to get ranked.

Lucas, I believe that the double image is showing up in browsers like Firefox and Opera, where the site is displaying how you intended in Internet Explorer.

Confirmed for firefox and opera. IE7 is fine.

I also want to echo that the site is kind of too bloggish. Sure a blog is a great way to manage content but you can push the envelope of design to make it "more than a blog".

I think it is a browser issue as well. you will have to examine the code to fix it Smiling

Yeah, you're more of a content provider than a blog, so I agree it'd be better to go for the website look than a blog look
Also, it's odd to me to have two different navigation areas - I suggest moving those header links to the side bar.

First thing: find another color for "~Currently Hosting 301 Family Guy Clips!~" text.
The site`s layout is okay, but pretty ordinary. It has a blog look that we see almost everywhere nowdays.
http://www.family-guy-clips.org/?page_id=33 => to something with the 120x600 banner in the bottom. It looks really stupid this way!

Excellent site. Nice comedy and a great site to go with it.
