Easy Systems UK
Hello everyone!
I'm still hard in development but I just thought you may be interested in seeing how its coming along. Note the 'right-click' function is disabled & the rollover pop up on certain words!
See what you think - in paticular the logo!

Nice site, I like it. Very simple to move around and locate where you are, nice clean crisp layout, very good
Few little nitpicks though...
1) For some reason the site initially took over 30 seconds to load ona 750K cable? Once in it was fine though
2)
You've done a good job of making it cross browser compatible so why the need to point this out? I always feel this adds a small amount of amateurism...
3) Disable right click. Again a bit unneccessary I feel as peropl can still view the source if they really want...
Like I said nitpicking on an excellent site!

Thankyou very much. I have workes so hard & you wouldnt believe how poor it used to look. Yes I agree about the notice about browsers, I have & will take that on board! I'm trying to resist the temptation to add too much in terms of design.
Also, it probably takes long to load as the code is awful. I am about to start streamlining it when I get a chance.
Thankyou though, I really appreciate your comments

Nice site. It seems like you have a lot of really good content and information there. I just have a couple of more little nitpicks for you.
Well that's just my opinions on your site and it's mostly little stuff. Good luck with the rest of it.

Other random nitpicks:
1) The colour of the banner at the top is too similar to the side banners. It made me look hard at it to make sure it wasnt the same. I do apprecitate however needing to differientiate the two.
2) As for the logo. Its pretty nice but how would you go about putting that on a bussiness card for example? Im assuming the globe is the logo? Or is it the penguin? Bit of confusion there.
3) Not sure about the link rollovers. I havent seen them before done like that. Its a good little trick. Maybe make the rollovers more simple. I dont know im really stretching here and as said before when you roll over the links at the bottom of the main page the colour changes so that you can't read it anymore.
4) I like the pictures in About Us, it personalises it nicely. So simple but completely went over my head on my own site.

Some excellent responses thankyou. Yes I agree on all the points made by both the previous posters in regards to the links, I am changing the rollover colour to somthing that doesnt block out the actual text. The forum will be the last thing I'm working on & becuase of it, its still pretty standard at the moment. It will however, match the rest of the sites colour scheme at some point.
Im suprised :q: at no one liking the right click disable feature. To be fair, I think I've added some features like that just becuase I could so I'll probably remove it at some point. Besides, you wouldnt want to look at my source code yet!! What a mess!!
In regards to the logo, its continual development, the one before that that some people would of seen will notice that this is a remarkable improvment but I'm sure I'll change it a few more times before I make the site live!
Thankyou though people, these comments are really helping me!

This one is really looking good! Great job!
I really like your tool tips you have on your download links!
My turn for nitpicks...
The hoover color on your links inside the content area are set to white. This makes them dissapear... not good.
Are you sure you want your navigation set like this? The term links (to me) suggests links to pages off your site. The Home page link is in the middle of this section... I'd prefer to see it at the top or bottom. Also, I know less than nothing about IT so maybe this is a specific term I don't know... When I clicked on MUD I had no idea what was going on, but it wasn't a page and just drove me crazy trying to figure out what to do. Perhaps an explination before you launch the window would be nice.
The no right click didn't bother me since I'm on a Mac. I was able to view all your code and simply grab any image I wanted. If you're relying on this as a security measure, you may want to look into something else.
I think you're well on your way to a terrific site!
Keep going and keep enjoying it all!
gotta finish redesigning my sites so I can show them again.
The purpose of education is... to get more jokes!

In terms of colour sheme, it's clean and simple, however I feel that the column dedicated to content seems very disproportionate to the navigation and ad columns on either side. Looks as though the content is 'squeezed' between two pillars, realistically one would expect the content to dominate the page, after all the page is nothing without it.
Cheers

Absolutley right, I was thinking that too. To all that have posted, I just want to sa thankyou. After reading & taking all your advice on board you can expect to see the following
NEW rollover colour that doesnt cause the text to dissapear
Explanation page regarding the MUD
an email contact form as opposed to details
More structured site links ( IE home at the top, labelled more clearly )
Content table improved, with clear seperation of articles & removal of right
side border on any page other than the home page to allow more nicley formatted text
code streamlined and better validated for improved download times
much much more content
I'm off to do some more reviews, thankyou everyone, I've probably learnt more of this site than any other resource or classroom.
