DreamStream UK - Comments Please

It looks exactly like the design you're currently using. Wait- I think it is the same design...

1) The face of the animal next to the logo really does look right their. I would just say you should s**** it.

If you look, they are different. The nav is different. Ads at bottom etc. It's actually quite a bit different if you look!
I mainly wanted to know what people thought of the nav but ohwell. Nevermind, you're all grumpy barstids here!

It looks prety cool, but I agree that you need to move the animal's face.
All in all.. it looks pretty good, and.. AS ALWAYS.. it's too texty for me, but that's alright.

Color, Use it.

Right align your right hand nav so that it aligns with the other test that is right aligned.

TheGraphicsExperience: where do you think I should move the little face? Or do you think I should completely get rid of it?

Justin Stayton: I called you that because you instantly thought it was the same design. It is quite close to my old design but has some minor changes. I wasn't calling you it because you didn't like the design. I wouldn't do that, I'd take your comments contructively

I would like to add a bit of colour. But I'm trying to keep a colour scheme throughtout all my sites. If you can suggest some colours and where they should be I'd be very intrested!

Ok, well since it's not the same design (too damn close for me), then I'll critique the changes...

1) It takes forever to connect to the server.

2) The face of the animal really doesn't go with the site. I would eliminate it. But if you really like it, then don't make it stand out so much.

3) I like the design with the menu on the left better, but it would be perfect if you would add the line seperating the menu from the content like on this new design.

4) Weave in another color.

The colours are really pale here. I think that would work well if you didn't have an ad on there. The way it is, the brightly coloured ad stands out a lot more than your content. You need to take this into consideration when designing a site with ads - pale colours usually aren't a good idea. The lighter (than usual) text may be hard to read for some people as well.

It's nice to see that you've done something somewhat interesting with the right side, since you're using a fixed width table that isn't centered. I would make that area blue instead of grey though.

The logo could stand to be a little bigger. I also think that the animal face is out of place (it's black - a colour that hasn't been used elsewhere on the page and it doesn't seem to compliment the title very well). Try to think of something that would represent the "Dream Stream" idea.

Picky detail - there should be a space above "Webmaster related" on the nav menu. Speaking of the menu, I don't have a problem with it being on the right. This isn't the most innovative design, so moving the menu to the right makes it just a little different.

That's a rather unrealistic statement, don't you think? If the visitor is interested in web scripting, and only web scripting, that may be true. But you just can't say that everything anyone may be looking for on the web can be found on your site. That isn't true for any site. Oh, and I don't know about anyone else but I really resent it when people tell me what I want.

Now, I know this sounds like a rather pessimistic critique. It's not as bad as that, really. It looks nice overall.

Well, I think it'd look good at the bottom of the page, kinda with a copyright notice, or something?
It doesn't seem to fit at the top. Like shoving a square block through a circle hole. [IT CAN BE DONE! AHAHAHAHAHA!]
