I pay like, $7.00 a month. Free my eye.

Anyway - here is my site: http://www.freewebs.com/acadiabl

It is a site dedicated to a forum dedicated to another site. At least, that's how it started. People kept posting their pics, so I made a gallery for the narcissistic fools. Then people started writing columns, so I added those, then people wanted pics of celebrities, so I added those.

Now it is sort of out of control. I get search engine hits, but not a ton. The biggest up and coming section is the celebrity tongues area. I decided I wanted to beat someone at something - so I chose that, and my enemy is deansplanet.com

I got kicked out of google adsense, so I have zero revenue, any alternatives you trust would be appreciated. I cant do style sheets for crap, and I have no idea what I am doing.

Thanks in advance. And I made every bit of the site myself, so I have nobody else to blame. Sad

It works on my machine.

I would move all the style commands in the head to a seperate sheet. It will help your page upload time.
I use both style sheets, and in line style. But move my basic commands to a seperate sheet.

I agree with steve, use external css, and clean up the codes... spend some time on them now so you wont regret it later... less code in html, mor relevant data SEs will collect...

I think the only thing your home page needs really is a little breathing room in between the text boxes on your page. I really like the side bar to the left, and the article about the Language of "Esperanto". That especially piqued my interest, and is in a very convenient spot on the page. Another option would be the following..

I like the format located at the following URL:

I would say it is absolutely perfecto! Unless you don't have access to that particular template, but if you do, I think it would be a great one for your site. If it is not copyrighted, or if it is one of the templates of choice, I would suggest this.

More about your current site...I love the celebrity tongues-that is funny. I have no complaint about the layout at all, except just make a little more space around each textbox like I said, and a little more space around each photo in the gallery to the right of the page. I also love your tagline "creepily gathering content since 2005") That is pretty cool, and the font fits the creepiness very well, like an old newspaper typefont.

I am very impressed.

One slightly off topic question...what does a person have to do get kicked out of Google Adsense? You don't have to necessarily answer that question publicly-you can PM me instead if you'd like...but I would want to learn from you is all. Thanks!

Thank you for your receptiveness to this review, and now I guess it's my turn.

It's a great site - the thing that makes it great is that it developed by itself through it's own users, it wasn't just designed to make money like so many other sites.

The only thing that I didn't like was that the male and female celebrity tongues were mixed - I think it would be nice for them to be separated. Because the people who want to see the female tongues may be turned off by the male tongues Wink

And if you're already paying $7/month, why don't you find a host that will give you a free domain to go with the hosting? Having your own domain is always a good idea.

I really like it. Easily one of the better sites I've seen using Freewebs. So many people go there and just use one of their premade templates.... It's sad really.

But yours is good. If you could get a little bit of space in between items it would be a lot better. Right now it kind of looks like you're trying to cram as much on there as possible.

I personally think that front page is too busy... so much content squished into a small fixed-width page...

Also the borders I see look like the "default" border style.. so I see all this gray throughout the page, which doesn't fit in...

Thanks, everyone. I will respond to everyone in one post, as I am pretty lazy Smiling

1: Steve - I don't know how to make the style sheets external in dreamweaver. I really wish I did, but I don't.

2: fish - I could not see the template you linked Sad As for the space between the text boxes, do you mean cell padding?

2.5: I got kicked out of adsense cause they said i was a fraud. I mentioned to the staff that I would start paying them if we made any money, and then I got a zillion clicks in like, a day and they called me a fraud. Which I guess is true, but I didn't mean it. I could have appealed, but there was no point. Plus all my ads were for hurricane relief, so I was not sad. So far, Adbrite is treating me right. So, as a word of warning for google - dont mention to anyone to click the ads....or you will get kicked out!

3. - A1 - good call on the guy tongues, i may change it. I have heard that before Smiling And I am going to get a domain soon, I think. It has become more serious.

4 - waffles - please elaborate on the spacing. I am dumb Sad

5 - Triexa - I am sure that the borders are default, I don't know if i know how to change them. Can you tell me what browser you are seeing the gray with?

Thanks everyone - sincerely.

It works on my machine.

Everything's all crammed together. Spread it out. It looks like a can of sardines in there.

VERRRYYY big first page. I think I wanted to close the page twice before I could see the content. Try make it smaller....also the pictures can't load because of the overall size.
