First of all, it loaded very slowly.
Second of all, I don't understand your title. "We Don't Stink" sounds like a comedy site. The visitor doesn't really know what the site is about.
Third, for a portal site, I found this page really confusing:

The sites aren't even in alphabetical order.
(Don't mean to sound blunt. Hope this is helpful.)

Your main page came up quickly, but the search pages took awhile. I would probably not use this site, so consider that while reading my comments.
I searched for things I know something about: poems, poetry, and pets. The poem & poetry sites that came up are known in the literary community as scams -- oh, your poem has been chosen for publication!! free! just send us money for a copy of the book!!! (there are occasional 'contests' to see who can write the worst poem possible to be "accepted for publication" by one of these outfits)
So -- well, the name, the tagline, and the content all put me off.
But you probably aren't shooting for poets in their 50's anyway.

For me, the fonts aren't too big and there is a mixture of TNR and Verdana

Hi mystanky. Welcome!
First I need to point out that it is appreciated that if you ask for a review on your site, you help out by reviewing at least 3 other sites as per the posting agreement.
I have some suggestions for your site, but I'll wait to post them until you've done some reviews.
Have fun!
gotta finish redesigning my sites so I can show them again.
The purpose of education is... to get more jokes!

Two things.
The title graphic at the top. Check try to pick some colors that complement each other. You can also get better resolution out of it with photoshop and still have a small image.
The search/link page is very confusing. make sure you follow some of the design rules by thinking about where the eye of the reader is going. If there is thousands of word and nothing is organized they will just quit. Try to organize the site so it flows.

here's my shilling: you need to convince users that this isn't just an ordinary portal site. Whenever I see a site like yours i think that it's one of those pieces of that you see when a domain isn't avaiable and is just filled up with a load od and sponsor links. Dmoz, however has no ads on the front page so I know immediatley that it's different. Another way to show this would be to have a Anti-spam icon.

Relax, it's just an opinion. Cryptor is entitled to his view, and an honest expression is more useful to the original poster than a friendly euphemism.
