Oh boy, I always love putting my "design" up for review, it really humbles me Sticking out tongue

http://www.koopy.org

I am planning to add some more links with descriptions to the main page, under Koopy's Korner, to even out with the new directories. I just have to figure out what sites to put there.

The name Koopy was my sisters, so don't make fun of it . Laughing out loud

The orange on white combination is really popping out at me, not in a good way. You need to do something in the CSS to distinguish between your links and text. Until you rollover them, there is no way of telling that they are links (make them a different color, leave the underline, etc).

Perhaps you should have some sort of about page or something explaining what your site is about and the different features and services you offer. While I can guess what 'Koopy's Korner' is, it'd be nice to have an explanation. Wink

I have to admit, I'm of a different opinion than mscreashuns. I actually like the orange on white. I do agree that a little something more needs to be done in CSS to differentiate the links from the other text, even before rolling over them.

Mscreashuns, did you not read the FAQ? Unless Matt added it after you reviewed, I think it pretty much tells what the site is about.

I really like the design other than the links issue, Matt. It's very clean and still looks professional.

I like the orange too. It's popping out in a good way for me. Not a lot of sites use orange so it's sure to attract attention. Putting the dark gray with it is a nice idea too. Sort of brings it back to earth a little bit. Nice.

I agree with Tim about the links.

In general this looks really good. I like the logo - it needs a little work on spacing but I think it sets the right tone for the site. The first spacing problem is that the P and the Y are running into each other too much. The letters should be more evenly spaced. The second problem is that it's butting up too closely with the elements around it. If you look at a lot of high profile sites you'll notice that there's quite a lot of space around the logo. This "white space" actually gives the logo more impact. Also, try putting the "directory of directories" under the logo rather than on top. I didn't notice it there at first so it took me a little while to figure out what this actually was.

"Now that's Koopy"! I like that Laughing out loud I also like that first entry in the "Koopy's Corner" area Wink

I did read the FAQ, but either it wasn't there, or I just completely missed that part... Sticking out tongue

Thanks for the reviews Tim, Megan and mscreashuns. I'll start making some changes.

Feedback is appreciated Smiling

Very nice I like it. Just two very minior points. I think the font at the top where it says "the directory of directories" should match the rest of the page and the text should say "Directory of directories" and lose the THE at the start.

The rest is great. The orange is cool and the logo is very playful so its not boring. I also like the pagerank thing at the edge.

Looks "A OK"... It looks like a friendster type site...

This design proves to be a favorite among some clients... Simple and Effective they Say.

The site looks nice. But I feel it is a little misleading, when you say no fees, then there is a paid inclusion.

That's for the directories that require money for submission into THEIR directory not mine. Smiling Thanks for the feedback.

I like the review and rating features, but i'm not overly keen on the look.

I like the layout and colors on the site. I am wondering if you could make it a bit easier to find the different directory categories. I clicked around on the site and finally found them on your site map, otherwise I think your site it great.

nice design, like the pr scale to the bottom left.

Hey teammatt3 . I think the orange is used good on this site. Obvisiouly your goal is to provide a service and shows that. The only thing that striked me a little was all the white used. I see that your table is fixed 720 pixels wide (which is what I do too!). It may not be your thing, but in my designs I like to have the quote "extra" space that stands out for 1024 x 768 screen viewers, be something different then the content section. Like a thin border or maybe a different color. Just a thought.
