Design of RedirectionGuide.Net
Hi all,
I've got a new design of RG up right now, do you like it? The advantage of this design is that not the whole page should be loaded before the browser shows anything... http://www.redirectionguide.net

The design isn't that great looking to tell you the truth. There is a huge white space in the middle of the page (I am using ie 5.0, 800x600)
Your stats button at the bottom of the right page makes the page look bad by setting the spacing off. Also the "Search The redirection.net Index" text seems to big and I thought it was the title of your page.

I agree - you definitely need to make your title bigger and maybe add some colour to it to make it stand out.
IMO, you site looks kind of... well... outdated (even changing the link colour from the default would modernize it a bit IMO, or try using table background colours). There are a lot of design issues here IMO - particularly the white space as Travis said.
Your biggest problem is organization. You should put your "What is a redirection service?" part at the very top for example (and put something in there about how you'll have to display an ad with your page somehow). That would really help to explain the search box before the users see it. Overall it looks to me like you need to start thinking from the users perspective.

Yes- needs more color, and you need to get rid of the white space. To get rid of the white space you might want to make the page for 640x480 res. so you don't have so much space to use I would put the logo on the left of the banner add. The content of the site is sure good though...

Is this better? OK, I did not change the logo, I'm not really good at logo's. Any ideas for good colors for the logo?

I agree that information about the site should be at the top with the search box below it.
Your logo is a little weak. Maybe you can get someone in the forum to help you out.
It's a nice clean layout - it just needs some spice.

In addition, I think that you do have great content here and this site is a great idea. However, there are a couple design issues -- a couple of which that have been mentioned already:
1) Add more color.. perhaps a couple of colors that you think would enhance your site and that you really like instead of the primarily grey-scale design you have going.
2) It seems a little hard to find the actual content and is a little frustrating with all the space you have... perhaps add columns (maybe an off-grey or some color) telling users exactly what your site is about and what redirection is, domains, etc.
Other than that, you have a good design started - just work with it a little

Someone of the fws.net has created a logo for us. Is this one better?

The logo looks much better. Now that you have some red in there, I would try to carry it through the rest of the site a little more. Maybe the gray gradient bars on the left side could be changed to red.
Speaking of those boxes, you should really stack them directly on top of each other to lose some of that awkward white space, and create more below them for your Newsletter and Partners.
Now, you really need to think about your labelling system here. A lot of this is really hard to figure out. Like on the "Fake Domain" page, for example, I have no idea what half of those headers are supposed to mean. You really need to make this more user friendly. Serious web designers usually have their own domain and hosting services. You're going to get the kind of people who are using geocities and stuff like that. Half of these people are using composer and crap like that to design sites - they're not going to have a clue what you're talking about.
Oh, and "What is a Redirection Service" needs a question mark.
