Hi, welcome to the forums Wink Could you review a couple of other sites while you're here? We'd appreciate it.

The best advice I can give you about your site is to start looking around at other sites on the web, particularly other web design business sites. This is compeltely not in keeping with the style of design being used on the web today. Pay attention to techniuqes others use to layout their pages, their use of colours and fonts, what sort of content their pages contain (and don't contain).

You'll notice, for example, that coloured backgrounds aren't very popular anymore. They may be used for parts of a page, like menu bars and header areas, but content is usually on a white background. Using coloured backgrounds in some areas is a good way to provide structure to your layout. You'll also notice that sans serif fonts are more popular, with cascading stylesheets used to control them, as well as link colours and effects.

Graphics are another thing you should work on. If you let us know which graphics program you'll using we'll be able to point you to more resources in that area. Definitely learn about anti-aliasing.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your site Smiling

If I was looking for a website to be made for me, I definatly would not come to look for you. Why?

1, The site looks as if it's just been quickly put together, you have things all over the place. In short, it's unorganised. (I'm using Mozilla)

2, The colours don't 'fit' together, each one is competing for attention and getting none because the eye doesn't know where to look.

3, You graphics one again look as if they have been made in a hurry... and the stick man up the top doesn't help either.

Conclusively, really sit down and plan your site, people are going to hire you based on what they see, if they see a really messy site/page with content everywhere and colours squrted on, they are just going to leave and find someone else who can do the job 'properly'. If are really serious about this, then think everything through and plan it.

I would have to agree for the most part with the above reviews. The site doesn't seem to be very organized and its hard for me to figure out what the site is about at first. Also it seems to me like half your page is ads. In my opinion I would scrap the ads, at least until you get more content on that page and visitors built up. You will probably make nothing from them right now anyway, and they are just kind of annoying.

Also I notice that on some of the pages on your site that Duse Stop text is flying over the page toward the top. This might be an intersting effect at first, but to continue to loop that gets a bit tiresome on the eyes.

I think you could make for a nice site, just gotta put more work into it Smiling

Not meaning to be discouraging but this site needs some work. The general first impression I get is that the owner hasn't really got the skills or maybe the time to put much work into it. That's just my opinion - I also understand how time consuming and difficult web design work can be - if you have a few dollars hanging around - pay someone to design a basic site layout for you - it will be money well spent - if you're serious about your website. But I give you full marks for starting the site and giving it a shot!

tips:

1) dont use animinations, they annoy the hell out of visitors

2) times new roman shouldnt be used on screen, use verdana etc much better on the eyes.

3) navigation bar is'nt obvious enough

4) don't use adverts if u are a business site, doesn't look proffesional.

to be honest, delete the site and start over, its a pretty bad site. reminds me of the sites i would see when i fist started in 1995!

If i was looking for a web site designer, i don't think i'd give this designer a second glance! The first thing to put me off when i viewed it was things flying around all over, even - unforgivably - in the background. The second thing is that it uses a serif font in Times New Roman, i hate the font, i really am SO against anyone using this on a web site! It just doesn't look good. Overall i think everything is cluttered with little stuff all over the place and well there's no CSS styling in the site at all and really, a designer with all the expertise you list should be able to add a stylesheet easily!

Content-wise it does seem to have everything there and thats a good plus point for the site, although when i click on a link, 'design' for example, what appears is a load of boxes with the content in and my eyes aren't automatically drawn to these, i have to look hard to see that the box isn't another advert on the site. As its important content, it really needs emphasising and the way it is, in the gray coloured box, doesn't really make it prominent. Just my opinion of course Wink

I'd say scrap this site, and the animation and go back to the drawing book, make it all neat and less jumbled up and maybe think about adding a CSS for the links and main text, it really does make future changes 100% quicker!

The best thing about your web site, is that you don't have a price list on it. Thats the biggest mistake 90% of the web designers out there make, adding a 'package' deal or a price list per page etc. to their web site and then having to stick to that price. It really isn't recommended at all, simply offer either a) a quote (as is sensibly done in this site) or b) a price per hour.

I look forward to seeing what improvements you will make to this site, so please re-post the link once you have given it a make-over Smiling
