OKay, I'm thinking I must be seeing something wrong in NS 6 because the content box seems to be really far down the page and it looks like those graphics with the dot patterns on them are overlapping each other in a way they shouldn't be. Hmmm... Oh yeah! In IE you've only got a little bit of those dots on the left side, in NS they're kind of all over the place.

Otherwise it's not bad - a little on the boring side but I'm sure that will improve once you get the

Shotaker, I think that I am a bit undecided on your site. There is no content so that makes it harder. The concept is okay, just a few things that I would maybe think about.

  • Low down - I am thinking that maybe your blue content table is too low. I would move it up a little bit and cover up some of those bullet holes (played Doom a little too much?).
  • Colors - I personally don't like the black and blue and orange all over. I mean it is okay. I just don't like dark backgounds.
  • Bottom navbar - I would have the same rollover effect with the text turning to orange on rollover.

Like I said we can only give a concept review until it is fleshed out a little more.

I agree it's hard to decide what it'll look like with content but I don't like the colours. Very heavy looking and I really don't spend much time on a site that gives me that feeling.

At 800*600 you have scroll bars gallore, fix that straight away (it's because you've set the table at 800 wide). Move the whole page up so that the paul-lang.com is nearer the top of the page which will get rid of the unecessary space at the top.

In a strange way I think this works... there are the obvious down sides... low res screens will have to scroll around as has been said and i think the blue outline around the "content box" is way too dominent. That should be something which stands out but not THAT much. I know that isn't exactly helpful but it's difficult to comment with no content. If the content is going to be bright then it might get away with it... but for now... i dunno.

manic.

I'm getting the exact opposite! In IE 4.0 (Mac) I see dots galore. In NS 4.6, not a single dot. And the blue box under the tabs doesn't show up either.

Thank you everyone!

I've been noticing a lot of the browser compatibility issues on this end as well, pretty weird.

As far as the color issues I somewhat agree. I'll probably just end up re-designing the whole thing, again.

I rather like this design.. it's fresh. It does have some problems but, what doesn't. I don't think you have anough orange present, there's just the .com and the rollovers, it looks like a last minute though. Maybe make a few of the dots orange, and the lower navbar links rollover orange.

Also, the tab effect doesn't look quite right to me because they are so spaced out. Since you have only a few options to put up there and relitively wide space the tab thing probably isn't a good idea, at least not all spaced out like that. Smoosh 'em together more or get rid of them all together is my advice.

How would it look with a lighter background? Maybe a blue background and black borders? I'm not sure but it does look slighty heavy.

In IE 5, for me the table is way up at the left corner. not centerd or moved down at all. (1024x768 resolution) Weird.

May be a shite suggeston but, how about when you mouse over the navigation something comes up in the middle part where you have 'thanks for stopping by'

But overall I like the site
