I've gone to a totally new look with my companies web site and would appreciate any comments you may have.

I know it's slow loading in Netscape, I'm working on it.

The link is www.unislumin.com

P.S. I feel a little guilty since I've used this forum for critiques but have never critiqued another site myself, I'm just not that good at it, but I try to help out in other forums that I'm better qualified for!

I like it alot!

1) I really like how the menu works. One thing though: when I put my mouse over the "Client Success" part, a tiny black line appears on the left side.

2) Maybe pre-load some of the mouse-over images like the "Home" and "Contact Us" ones.

That's all I got. Very nice!

Thanks Justin, coming from you it means a lot because I know you can be a pretty tough reviewer.

That little line that appears is going to be a menu, it should be up in a couple days, I'm just to lazy to change the script right now.

I've been debating whether or not to preload some images, I'm already preloading a lot of stuff although they're pretty small in size, I guess it wouldn't hurt to add a few more.

Looks really professional!

Try centering the menu text, see what it looks like.

Under the logo to the right you have "Technology Based business solutions". I had to look at the page 3 times before I noticed it. Try a different font colour for it?

On some of the sub-spaces, where you crrently have nothing under the right hand menu, I think it looks a little out of place. Try to get some content under that menu?

Well, i am very impressed. I think the overall layout looks awesome. Its very professional. The menu's look great. The only complaint i have on the whole site is the load time. Some pages took some time too load. Since you are working on that though, i dont really have any other negitive coments. It looks great!

Hi Peter,

On the home page: The green (grey?) goes well with the rest of the color scheme, but it causes its text to be overpowered by the darker, linked text. Also, I'm not a big fan of multi-word links (three is my limit). Maybe you could consider bullet or arrow links at the beginning of the sentences?
Loved the menus and alt text -- "you are here; job displayed".
I agree that some of the pages columns tend to be bare -- client sites, for one. Since you can't change the tabling on the page without ruining the overall consistency, perhaps you can fill the 1st & 3rd columns with the services rendered -- telephony, dbms, etc. (BTW: How do you 'partner' with a municipality? Isn't that illegal in some states? Smiling
Before I saw the "Client Site" page, I thought the link would actually take me to a site.
Contrary to what above may imply, I did like the site.

Hi Peter,

The layout looks nice and neat and it looks professional for a business site. My only dislike about your site is the lonely man,he looks like he has gone busted and lost everything in his business and doesn.t portray a very successful image. Perhaps a photo of a person with a smiling face or a group photo with smiling faces would look more appropriate for your site e.g. http://www.netloox.com

Hope this helps

It looks really good. The only thing that kinda annoyed me was the animated "helping clients expand their possibilities" I thought that it kept moving because of some css coding.

Peter,

I think it looks very professional. About the only thing that really caught my eye was that on some pages you have a lot of blank space to the left and right
of your text area, and it just seems like something is missing there. Other than that it looks great!

Roo.....sounds like it is time to dump NS 4.7 and use a more stabble version!

Peter,

Very Crisp clean and well colour schemed layout, Easy to navigate and very proffessional looking. Infact the site is so squeeky clean that the only thing I could find that was remotley wrong was a missing alt tag. I can't even remember what page it was on that is how trivial the error was

Good Work

Wow! Thanks for all the reviews, I really appreciate them, everyone needs an ego boost once and awhile

There will be content coming soon to fill a lot of the blank space that most of you noticed.

I am a little concerned about this site with Netscape though, while it doesn't crash my Netscape it does take a long time to load certain pages that contain a lot of nested tables, I'm not sure what I can do about this.

Anyway thanks for all the reviews!

Regards,
Peter J. Boettcher

The thing is that Netscape waits for the final /table before loading. Breaking up the tables helps, but with many nested tables, there isn't much you can do.

I use stacked and nested tables to speed things up, and generally avoid the use of tables for formatting if possible. It's not always possible, but when it is, I go for sleek tables.

Very nice and professional! I like the top menu, how it goes down, it is great! However, it is a bit small on my screen, maybe you should center it, or make it a %, instead of fixed width. One more thing, the guy up top, in with the circles, kinda looks like he is sleeping. Good job though! I like it a lot
