Pretty good site, I only have 1 comment, space out your logo and banner, or take the banner out and put it at the bottom of the page.

No, it is up, but the link above has a period (.) after it. The real address is: www.sports-central.org
1) Center the page because on 800x600+ it is squeezed to the left.
2) Yeah, have more space between your logo and the banner ad. Also- the logo looks too small compared to the rest of the site. Make it bigger!
3) On the sub pages keep the logo (hopefully bigger) and then put the header under it. Right now you just have a text header, which looks crappy.
Overall the design and layout are good and so is the content...

Thank you all for your replies. Please note that I accidently put a period in the URL, so try http://www.sports-central.org instead. I am going to try to put a little more space between the banner ad and the main logo, as suggested. As for centering the page, I'll see what I can do to make it look better. And for your suggestion of making the main logo bigger, I don't see how that can be done. It has to fit between both blue bars in the design, although it could be a little bigger I assume... again, I'll see what I can do. I tried to minimize it as much as possible to reduce loading time. Feel free to give me more suggestions

I don't like how the gray bar on the right extends to the top of the page but the one on the left doesn't. It makes the page look lopsided. Oh, and get rid the ride side column on the sub-pages when there's nothing on it.
I really don't agree with your choice of colours though - kind of blah IMO. Maybe some more bright, sporty colours would be better. One idea that is often suggested here is to borrow colours from a sports team.
Your navigation is really good, and I like that curved part over the menu. As an NHL fan, I was interested to read the article about TV coverage (which I totally disagree with BTW). I don't think it's a good idea to list the ages of your columnists if they're under 25 or so - adult visitors just aren't going to respect the ramblings of a 15 year old.
It's nice to see that you've got some original content, rather than just the usual scores and stats.

Thanks... however, I disagree with a few of your points. First off, you said you think I should get rid of the blue bar on the subpages because it has nothing on it. If I did that, the page would not look right - having that blue bar on the right is the whole basis of the design. As for posting our staff's ages, we strive on providing sports fans up-to-date sports articles, scores, transactions, standings, and more - and age shouldn't make a difference, it's the content that matters. Once again, thank you for all your comments and I'd love to hear more.

I really like your layout. I think it looks great. I really think you need to center it though. That is the only thing. The banner at the top of the index page doesnt go with the site either. Other then that, it looks great!! You are right, age shouldnt matter. You should be proud of what you do!

Oh, I agree that it shouldn't matter, but the point is that it will for some people, especially to cynical adult male sports fans, and especially when you're writing opinion pieces. It's up to you to decide whether to lose those visitors or to print your ages.
I also agree that your site is very well done in general and a great acheivement for anyone, no matter what age. Keep up the good work. I am very impressed with your smooth and consistent navigation and the wealth of original content. The design could use a little tweaking here and there but that's just my opinion, take it or leave it.

Why couldn't you move you menu down to where your content starts, then make the logo the width of the left menu and content area?

Again, I thank you for everything everyone, even though I don't agree with a lot of what you're saying. Enough about the age thing if you will...
