Criticize my Photo Gallery! -
I have spent a lot of time building my website which contains about 60 photos.
I found that it works best using IE 4.x. There is a slightly different version for other browsers (slideshow not included).
I am really pleased with the way the slideshow works as it took me many hours to perfect the script.
Please check it out, if you find any bugs let me know.

Hi Lloyd,
Please make the effort to review an other website in this forums as I am taking the time to review yours, thanks.
NB: I'm on IE5.
First impression is fairly good, weird colours but they work well together IMHO.
Surely a bit harsh! Try and rephrase as some people will get a bad impression of you through this text.
Bin the counter, it ruins the page.
Some of the rollover graphics seem to stick, I'm sorry I don't have time to look at the code myself to verify/explain the problem.
I like the slideshow and the rest of the navigation though the actual buttons do not really fit in with the site itself.
Takes a bit long to load, but at least their is a warning.
Nice site, keep at it.

Hi Lloydhass,
Quite an interesting array of photo's you have. Your page layout is nice. I didn't look in netscape, but I do know of some good cross browser slide show applets that load very quickly (you only have to wait for the first picture, the rest load while the previous pictures are showing). I did experience one "thing" sorry if I don't know the correct terminology for it, could be the sticking that JP mentioned (page was covered with funny colors surrounding the menu and slide show. I also didn't quite understand the buttons of the slide show, I clicked one and got a little pop-up that said clicking it wasn't necessary.
take care,

A solution (if not already implemented) could be to include ALT tags on the slideshow images.

Thanks so much for your comments.
My navigational buttons do look out of place with the rest of my website. I have been meaning to chnage these for a while but I cant decide on a good design.
Carolyn,
You mentioned that you knew of some good cross-browser slideshow applets. Could you please give me a URL. I would love to check them out. I searched the web for hours to find a good script but was unable to find any!
The Navigational Buttons really are not that hard to understand. Take a look in your status bar if you have trouble.

Hi Lloydhass,
Try here for starters:
Gamelan has 83 slideshow listings, minus a few dead links

I have a few more java bookmarks, if you can't find anything with these I'll give you more.
Happy hunting

LLoyd,
I dont have a problem with your rather harsh warning, given the whimsical nature of some of the photographs.
Some of the images took awhile to load, but the slideshow format works well.
Of the various categories, I found the "cars" section to be the most interesting, though I liked some of the "adventure" shots as well. The party pictures and other images of people are perhaps only of interest to you and your friends.
