Counterfeit
Yeah. I'm new and figured this would be a good place to start. My names Chris and I run counterfeit.tk . First off, My site is a hobby i share with a few friends, so I take advantage of a lot of free things, such as the .tk domian. I DO pay for webhosting though, so theres no banners or anything like that on my site.
I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my new layout.

Thanks guys.

That image on your index is waaay too heavy and took forever to load, try compressing the weight so that it loads faster. I also don't understand this: [SITE BEST VIEWED WITH TEXT SIZE SET AT "SMALLER"] why??? You should just make your font size smaller when creating the site. Most people are too lazy to do it themselves.
You've got a markee running beneath the title image (which I especially like by the by), but the text color is the same as the background. You meant to do this ?
Overall the site is fine, the only this is ... its very ...gray. A little color variation might help.

Thank you for the review! I took a lot of your comments into consideration, and am planning to make a few changes. Also, sorry about the topic title, I must not have been thinking on that one, haha! I'll be careful to follow all the forums guidlines from now on.

Echoing what tenchi said, some of the graphics are too large. Not necessarily too big on the screen, but the size of the files is too big. For people without highspeed access this will really be a problem. Try saving your gifs with few colors or at a slightly lower quality.

Hey, thanks for looking at those other sites! As for yours, I think you've got a good start here. The entrance page and logo/header graphic have created a good look and feel for the site. I think you should go futher with that by integrating the layout more with that sort of a style. The icons on the navbar, for example, don't match the grunge style of the logo. I also think the layout would be better without so many boxes. Not everything needs to have a box around it. You should look around at some of the newer CSS designs being done now (Suzanne's site, A List Apart etc.). I think your site would benefit a lot from that sort of a layout.
Speaking of CSS, your code is terrible. Run a validator on that!

I likea lot of it. They are right about that image loading really slow though on the front. The icon images I like, but they definately don't go with the grey shade of your website.
Whats CSS?

It's nice looking with clear navigation.
Problem is - what's it all about??
Needs some sort of introduction at the top telling new visitors what they are in for.
Also when you click on a link on the left - the page it take u to does not have the cool little menu graphics - a bit inconsistant
