Welcome to Webmaster Forums, unleash. I just have one request to make of you. That request is to help us review 3 sites here at Webmaster Forums before we review yours. This keeps this review thing flowing a bit and even helps you by looking at other's sites.

Well here are some comments on your site:

  • Color scheme - overall I liked the color scheme. I always like blue. I also think black text is the easiest on the eyes.
  • Logo - I felt like your logo was a bit too big. 16K is a pretty big file for those unfortunates with slow connections. I also am not sure if I like it that much. Anyway I would shrink it down a bit.
  • Table - I think that you could safely make your table an extra 120 pixels or so wider. I think that there was only one person in the world still using a 15" monitor at 640x480 & Megan Jack just upgraded to a 19". You could also use a percentage of say 75% or so to still have the blue background, but have your screen filled a bit more.
  • Content - I am sure that it will come but your site is very lacking in content. You should also make it more clear about the purpose of the site. I know your logo says something about web design but if that was not there, I don't think I would have known that is what the site is about. In other words, you should have a statement in 100 words or less, who you are and what you are doing.
  • Tidbits - I didn't really like the + signs in your navbar. On the graphics page, I would make the text box the same color as the table so it doesn't stand out as much. I don't like frames, they can mess up many a search engine.

Overall I thought it was a job well done. Just needs cleaning up a bit.

Hi,

I agree pretty much with Mairving (except I do use frames, although I don't see why you have??)

The site looks squashed on a large screen, either make the table bigger or I would suggest using percentages for widths.

The logo doesn't do anything for me & I'm not sure about the statement "Top level of webdesign" & it is a bit too big.

Never center text, it makes it hard to read.

Have you built any other sites? I couldn't see any reference to it & I'm very confused as to what your site is actually trying to acheive. The graphics/animations you have, who do you expect to be using them???

Julia - if life was meant to be easy Michael Angelo would have painted the floor....

A few things:

1. Logo - it's too big first of all, and the words are rather hard to read on there. Needs improvement

2. In your graphics section, I'm looking at the textures and you should be able to fit more on the page - 6 or 8 maybe 10 even, instead of having that big long row of page numbers underneath it. I must say that these are very good textures - not what I was expecting. YOu should include some accompanying articles on how to use textures effectively try to put text on top of the more high contrast ones, how to use them with various photoshop effects to make cool graphics etc.)

3. Your forums - this is what really confuses me about your site - The title makes me think that this site is about design, and yet you have no section in your forums for Web design or graphics or Critiques or anything like that. YOu've also got way too many different things under money section - makes me wonder what your real purpose is - promotion and money making or site design? IT also confuses me when you've got your computer help sections above the "web design" section. YOu should probably rethink your organization here.

Ha ha! It is pretty sweet - running at 1132 right now... Flash just has too many pallettes, you know? Anyway, I definitely think that for a web design site it would be safe to design for 8x6 and above (although I wouldn't say that nobody has 15" monitors anymore....)

No it's official. You were the last remaining person on a 15" monitor. Now if we could just get those people who have 17" monitors running 640x480 to switch.

Thank you for a feedback I will try to follow your suggestions. Frames are weird I agree. I registered domain through register.com and it is a redirect. I didnt find how to insert the description or title there. May be someone could explain me that...

Yeah I agree about table sizeway. I will make it fit to 800x600 resolution. I dont really like percentage because logo would have to stay on the side...

The content. Yeah I agree that there is the lack of it. I amworking on better organizing and filling it.

Anyways I am really impressed by the amount of replies I got. Your forum is the best!!! Free webspace did not reply at all Sad. Thanks and I will try to do my best to improve it!!!

Hi unleash

I like it - The blue color that is. But you need to re-work on is the Logo - it's real big make it the size of a thumbnail. If u dont wanna reduce the size fine, then atleast make the words a little more readable, Logo is the identity of your website after all and to a certain extent your work too.

What;s that log book like thing on your first page. Put something more exciting like - A word about yourself and your work...let people know what to find @ the website ..then take them through of how the website came about.

Give your page a title on the top and hope your META words are in the right place.

All else looks impresive - specially the color scheme. All the best and hope to see an all new updated website soon.

Have a nice DAY!

Thanks for replies everyone. My hosting promised to enable mysql and php soon so I am putting phpnuke there. It would take some time to make the design similar to what I had but it would really make it easier to maintain.

I agree with what hasbeen said already, i really like the color scheme - those shades of blue are relaxing i think.

Personally, i think that you need some images that relates to your LAYOUT. As it stands it is pleasant and clean but has little identity. Obviously, you don't want some overpowering huge graphic of something that doesn't relate but maybe altering your logo so it has an image or making a very small file-size, SUBTLE background for the nav bar in the same hues of blue.

That's just me though...

The site looks good, but a few things ...

The links (black on blue) at top are hard to see, maybe swap the links to white with black mouseovers

The text and link at the very bottom of the page cant be read at all

I have to scroll sideways at 800x600

My old pc (old faithful), I use to check my sites has a 14" moniter at 480x620, (max screen res.) which I still use but only has a 14.4 modem so you cant be in a hurry to do things

Just a few things...

Try making your links white but have them change color (to yellow or something). That would add more color and make the links easier to see.

The other thing is kind of a biggy. Navigation...it seems confusing to me. Digital art and flash games are the same...when you go to games the previous section says space - that's not right is it? The nav only seems a little off in those sections.

That's all for now.

I really like the design, and really have no quarrels with it except for the 2 banners at the bottom.. are they really necessary? You already have 1 at the top. I like your design a lot though. Keep up the good work.

Thanks. The very bottom banner is only on the first page and it is agreement with hoster. The one at the bottom is bannerexchange (i need some visitors...) And the very top one is cj. They pay for putting banners.

The website right now is kinda on the edge of moving to the new hoster. But it is not for sure. I will update the website tremendously during the weekend!!!

Very nice but on some pages I get errors reported where it looks like characters are missing from the code.
