Please review/check out/critique/test my new website CharlotteMLB.com.

I'm not a professional webmaster like many of you may be, but hopefully I put together a clean, simple, easy to navigate site that works well for our grass-roots cause. I ask that you keep my hobbyist-status in mind since I know it isn't quite at the same polished level as most of the other sites I see in this critique section, but comments, suggestions, or error finding is definitely appreciated.

Although I'm not a professional, I would like to toot my own horn by stating that no wysiwyg editors were used at all. I typed every line of code by hand using Notepad. Smiling

Thanks!

Mike,

I think you did a great job. It's easy to navigate and easy to understand. And you have a lot of good information in this site.

Just a few things to comment on. Your fan forum link takes a long time. I closed the window the first time because I thought it wasn't working.

The other thing is the color scheme. The red, white, and blue looks good. The green graphics at the top of each page look good. But it all doesn't go together that well. I don't know if it's as much the color as it is the design of those elements. The red, white, and blue is very bright, hard edged and crisp. The green has a much more soft look (like grass on a baseball field - probably what you are going for!) Maybe if the r,w,b had a softer feel to it (like the blend in the green). I am not sure - but maybe try some different ideas.

That's it! Great job!

Thanks.

About the Fan Forum, you're right, it takes way to long to load. The reason is because it is currently at a different host server. I tried to move it over a few days ago but it didn't work. But since I have an unmovable launch deadline of tomorrow, I thought it best to keep the link in there, fix other problems before launch, then try again to more it over to my server in the next few days.

I have been thinking about dropping the green too. Red, white and blue anre to match the colors of MLB. Green is for baseball and its the unofficial color of the city of Charlotte, but your right that it doesn't quite fit together. I'll eventually change that too, but the Fan Forum comes first.

Thanks! Smiling

Yeah - I thought that maybe it was taking too long because of someone else.

Good luck and post back as it gets updated. I would love to see it again!
