Brand new site - www.ThePrisoner.info
Hi gang,
I have just set up a new site based on the cult TV show The Prisoner.
It is currently being shown on BBC and BBC America.
The site is : www.theprisoner.info
What do you guys think?
It is the first time I have done a .info domain - any thoughts on that ?
Tom

Nope, it's okay for me. When I first saw this I thought it was a cute concept but I didn't know what it had to do with the TV show. I'm having problems connecting that striped awning and barber pole to the photos I see of the show Is this appropriate?
I'm also finding the text on the navbar to be very small. Hard to read. The good news is that your pop-outs work in my browser (Opera 7.5).
One other thing is that I think the header area with the page haedr and two ads need to be cleaned up somehow. It's visually confusing. (what is an ad? What is the header?) I'm not sure what the solution to that is though..

Thanks for the message,
I know what you mean about the adverts. I have been trying a number of different layouts - keep working on it.
Anyone who has seen the Prisoner will instantly recognise the menu graphic. The pole and awning is a consistant image used as part of the set of the show.
All signs and street furniture make use of it:
It's very 60's!

Ah! the Prisoner. What a great bit of Tele. Right up there with the great Faulty Towers and Monty Python's Flying Circus. The BBC used to be so good. Those of us who saw the original understand the barber pole and awning. I would have put the 'sea ball' thing in there somewhere. This is a really good site in terms of depth of information and links et al. You should be commended for the work. I spent some time going around all the links and pages and reading the text and, again, I think you've really done some great work. What would be so cool is a clip worked into the first page of the 'sea ball' rising up, but I guess I'm a little fixated with that thing One of the great mysteries of the series. Great work man!

Quite a nice little site, not an jaw-dropping design but very comprehensive in content, and that - in this instance - is the most important aspect.
The menu items are somewhat hard to read - due to blurring - and occassionally squashed horizontally in some sub-menus (most notably the "Episode Guide").
The idea of the ball is a good one, that could perhaps make an appearance in the lower right corner? It would help balance the page a little better as well, it looks a little left-heavy atm.

I think Rover (the ball thing) should make more of an appearance as everyone seems to remember it!
The size of the menu text is fine for "most" users - ie 800x600 and 1024x768. Remember the main users of this site will be web professional (or trying to be) and therefore much more likely to have better spec computers/large monitors etc.
I have designed it looking at the stats of the visitors I get.
Thanks for the comments so far gang, very useful.

I think your site looks good
Love the navigation system, really creative. Just one small thing - do you think you could make the sub-menu images transparent? At the moment they have a square look about them.

I have had a lot of complaints about that!
SO it is sorted now. transparent back to the fly-out menus and also rounded the buttons so they don't look out of line!

exellent site for content, not that the design is bad, i feel that after the first page there is an awful lot of content per page, which is good because thats what someone visiting this site will be after. However perhaps make it look a little less crammed in each page by making the padding between coloumns text and photos a little wider, a little more white space between will also help to frame articals better, maybe.
