Thanks for all your earlier suggestions..

Im basically playing around with a bunch of different designs.

Does anyone think the picture of myself is dumb? If so what could I replace it with?

That version is so superior to the black and blue one, it's hard to believe they're from the same person:)

Hey, it's your site ... if you want your picture on, so be it.

Yes, I like this one better. It's not so dark and dingy. One thing that needs to be fixed on here is the ovabundance of horizontal rules - they look better in IE than in Netscape but there's still too many.

Another thing is the difference between the top menu and the bottom one - either center or don't, one way or the other.

Otherwise it looks good - maybe you could add some interest with a with a screenshot and a blurb about a new site on the front page.

Oh, and next time could you just keep going with the old thread instead of starting a new one? Thanks.

Yeah this is soooooooooo much better! I like the arrow thingy, it gives the site more character although the paul-lange.com text looks blurred to me (but maybe that's just my eyes!!)

I like the picture, it gives a personable feel to the site and certainly adds to the look.

I like the design, it's very clean and simple and works well. It is hard to gauge it properly without it having more content, but it's definately on the right lines. The page loaded up quickly and the navigation is clear and effective.

I like the picture. It gives the viewer a person to relate to. The quote that you have under the pic works together well with the pic to in converying your thoughts. Nice touch.

I like the navigation at the top. It is clean. The nav at the bottom seems like it needs just a tad of white space below it. It looks too jammed up against the bottom of the screen.

I would get rid of the horizontal rules. They seem to take away from the crispness of the site.

Overall, I think it looks good so far.

looking good! i really like the logo Smiling.

i like the idea of the pic. it adds that personal touch. maybe you could give it a couple of effects? a gray/blue border? rounded corners? maybe lighten the background a little, or have a new one thats zoomed in a bit? Laughing out loud

the quote is pretty good too. Smiling

irrelevant: when i see "Paul-lang" on the window title or status bar the "l-l" looks a lot like a "H". Laughing out loud

I like the logo & the layout, although I'm not 100% sold on the colours. It's a bit dark but with content that may change.

You have a scroll bar at 800*600

Wayyyyy better IMO. If people think that it's too dark then you could make the lowest box (where all of the text is) white.

Good job!

BTW - how long have you lived in EP? That's where I am from!

The second one you posted is really nice, I think. But it IS a little dark, you could fix that by changing the black bgcolor to something less... black.

I personally don't think it's THAT dark. I think it's really easy on the eyes actually. I like the color scheme on it too. The only reason i might not want it dark would be the psychology of having a dark website...kinda dreary and depressing...as opposed to something that's brighter and less depressing. Might subconsiously bring more business to you...

Not to keen on the "Welcome", its the part that stuck out as being a bit jagged and big, maybe a smaller greeny/grey/white graphic would look nicer.

nice design though!
