africaimports.com testing new shopping cart
Please take a look at http://155.212.124.115/africaimp/ and let me know what you think about the layout.
Color suggestions would be welcome.
Our old site is http://africaimports.com
Ignore the broken image links, we are in the process of fixing that.
Also ignore the broken links on the body of the homepage. What I'm really looking for is a critique of the overall layout.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Sam

Your new layout is much better then your old one. More professional and neat. I would put something in that big white space on top, maybe a banner ad or a header.

It's a definate improvement from the last version, but it may still need some work if you're going up against sites like http://www.africantreasures.com or http://www.eziba.com
It looks alot like amazon.com, maybe too much, at least that was my initial reaction.

I would suggest filling in the white spaces throught the layout. There is a big gap at the top just screaming for something to fill it and also down the right side of the page. I dont know what you want to include be it ads or banners or something related to your site, but it needs something other than white. For the top I would make it shorter and somehow include your logo so that it doesnt take up as much space because i would really like to see more categories without scrolling down. I would like to see more content when i first reach the page so that you really catch me and make me look through the site. So somehow make the header of your layout smaller and more efficient use of space.

I much prefer the first remake. The green just doesn't seem right.
