I agree - remove the 'screen shots' to the right.

After you do that, add a blank column to the right side of the site with a 15-20% width. That will create a right margin and in my opinion makes your text look much more professional.

Thanks guys, I'll take out the screen shots. I was testing out what an image would look like there.

The right margin is a good idea too, I'll work on that. Smiling

Thanks!

It is such a shame that we could not go through with our project Sad

I'm too depressed to review this site...

I know how you feel, I almost didn't bother making this site at all. Sad

dyc, Voltec:
I made all the changes you suggested.
-Background is plain white
-Screen shots deleted
-Larger margins (particularly the right side of text).

It improved things quite a bit, those were some great suggestions. Smiling

Any more comments welcome. Smiling

John,

The right margin makes it look much better... but ya know, with so little text on each item, it would really be good if you could come up with another column on the right side. Meaning, more menu choices, square banners (125x125), something that would take about as much room on the right as your menu does on the left.

Now I admit I was initially looking at your page at 1024x768, but when I resized the window to 800x600 and even 640x480, I believe that a column on the right still would balance it.

Just my viewpoint... (=

I have thought about doing that, I was thinking along the lines of the 125x125 banners you suggested(maybe extra ad space). If I am unable to sell space there I might come up with some content for the area.

I might leave it with the margin for now, but there may well be a right column in the future. Smiling

I'm glad you were able to look at it in 1024x768, I only go up to 800x600 so that was very helpful. Smiling

Hi John,
Sorry, I was unable to see the first draft Smiling. This looks good so far, nice and clean.
Might work on your banner, make it larger and a little more exciting.
I really don't think any other graphics are necessary here since this is an info site.
Personally, I think the mouse-overs on the menu would better if they extended all the way to the edges (button style).
I would change the link from "forums" to "forum" or "TWF" because I was expecting a list and not a direct link.
I think that the links back "home" from the pages should be under the separator line, they look almost like a part of your logo/banner.

take care,
Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn,

I changed the "Forums" to "Forum".

I'll see what I can do with the image, hopefully I'll get something more entertaining.

The other things may take some time, but I might get them changed if I can make them work out.

Hi everyone, I thought I would put my new site up for review in order to make any necessary adjustments. The URL:

http://www.ad-help.com

I hadn't planned on doing it myself at first, so most of the areas are a little thin so far. My main concern is that everyone is able to view it and that the design isn't too terrible. If you do read any of the articles, feel free to comment on those as well.

If you would like to contribute articles, feel free to contact me as I'd love to have more content. Smiling

- I don't understand what the small browser screenshots are doing there...

- I would use a white background; off-whites don't look too nice on the Web.
