In my personally opinion, I would not pre register such domain names.
Then again, I am against domain hoarding as I feel that creativity should go in the place of a "for sale" page.

It depends on. If I am living in a country where people like figures more than characters, then I may choose figures domain. However, I have never registered figures domains so far.
