What is this sign ?
W.masters need your help again .
I'm working on my site for quite some time .. and I can't figure out why when I load a page to view in my browser from my server the browser insert a (#) sign after my page like : contact.html# .. but not in the first time it loads the page only the second and so on. It buthers me because I think that is what cause the "The page can not be viewd" or "internet explorer could not open the page " errors. Netscape also add this (#) sign but without those errors .
Any help will be appriciated ! thx .

Not real clear on your question. The # will be ignored if it is after a link. It is doubtful that a browser will insert a # in your links. Maybe it is the program that you are using. Page can't be viewed errors are caused by a variety of reasons. It could be a cache problem with IE. It could also be a hotfix was applied or not applied or some other setting in IE.
Do you have a page that others can look at to help you with the problem?

This is the Address : http://flash-biz.com/contact.html . now to chack it you'll have to play between the third button and the fourth from the right on the fla mov on the top.

It is usually used on FAQ pages, where you link a section from the same page. For example: http://www.tradeboss.com/default.cgi/action/faq/
Try to click on a link from the FAQ.

the # sign designates an 'anchor' in the page. that means, a link to a portion of the same page, but not some other page. if there's nothing after the # sign, that is the same as if there was no # sign. it is hardly a cause for any error by itself.
