What should I call the non-mobile version?
Hi everyone,
One of the sites I work on redirects mobile traffic to a special page. This is mainly because mobile rates are really high in Canada and downloading the full page would be expensive (wasn't my choice, the guy before me did that).
I want to add a link to the regular version of the page but the question is, what should I call it? What would users be looking for if they wanted to get to the full version?
Non-mobile version
Regular version
Normal version
Graphical version
Graphical home page
Regular home page
Non-mobile home page
Any ideas??

Well, you could emulate the BBC and call the versions "Low graphics" and "Graphics Version".
I do feel pretty strongly that web pages should generally be as "light" as possible. Not always possible, for example for a photographic portfolio. But everyone wins when pages load faster, in my opinion.
Here are some ideas from Yahoo - Speeding Up Your Web Site.

The original version really isn't that bad - it's just got one big photo that I can't exactly do anything about. The mobile version is *really* minimal - basically a handful of text links. We're not talking about some majorly bloated page that's got all kinds of problems with it so you have to redirect it. It's more a problem of mobile access rates being really high in Canada.
Right now I just want to link from the mobile version to the real version - maybe at some point we'll have the resources to re-evaluate the mobile strategy.
