Website Problem... Question
I noticed my website, Internet Database Website, would not load to cover the entire browser screen 100% width even though I have it in my CSS to do so. I have my browser set to prompt for scripts, incase I visit websites I dont trust, and noticed that if I do not allow scripts to run when I visit my website the page would cover a lot more area. Sorry, if my explaination is bad. You can visit the site real fast to see what I am talking about. Is there anyway I can fix this?
By the way, I have no scripts running on the website. It is a free hosted site though, and I think the banners load their owns scripts that maybe effects the rest of the page?

It seems to work okay for me. Which browser are you using and what exact settings do yout think are causing the problem?

I am using Internet Explorer, not sure which version, but it is outdated. I dont know what is causing the problem but it is related to some javascript that is loaded when the page loads. Like I said before, I have no javascripts in my code for the site. When I allow scripts to run the main div box that is holding all of the other content is only around 70% width and does not cover the entire browser page. When I do not allow scripts it covers 100% like it should.

If you go to Help > About Internet Explorer it will tell you what version you are using. You say that you are choosing to allow or not allow scripts - what setting are you using to do this? I tried turning javascript on and off in Opera and it doesn't have an effect on the display.
The code for this page is really bad - is that your free host that's inserting all the code before and after your section?? There is HTML in the header and after the that shouldn't be there. You could try uploading this to another server and see if it's still doing the same thing, that might help you troubleshoot the problem.
It could be all this incorrect coding that is causing the problem.

The server inserts all that extra code. I wrote the html, and css for the page. It is setup right. I have obviously put no commands after LOL. I have javascripts, activeX, etc all on "prompt" status. So I can either decide to let stuff run, or not when I visit certain websites.

But something else has put all that stuff in and that looks to be what's causing the problem. Getting on a better server that doesn't put all that garbage in would be a good idea.
I'll try to check that page in IE when I get a chance.

i saw it in firefox and it looks ok

there is a google ad vertical banner and a lot of empty space to the right of it.
if you have added those banners, remove them and see how it looks.

I looked at it in IE 6.0, and there is a lot of dead space to the right. I noticed you have a lot of fixed widths in your code. I could not get away with that, when I recently overhauled my site. I set the table to 100%, and did not set a width or percent on my , it all defaults nicely all the way from 800 x - 1600 x. I would go through my code, and play around with the percents, and fixed widths. It looks like the body part of the site is not filling out for some reason, it just might be those *^*@*&$^#*^ Google ads.

Well if it's working in your browser on your local pc, but then failing when you upload it that indicates it's a problem with what your hosts are doing with the pages.
Free hosts are notorious for putting a lot of junk around whatever you want to show.
Free hosting just isn't what it used to be *sigh*

I downloaded his code to a blank html page, and it looked just like it does on the web. Big blank space to the right. I IE-6, Latest FireFox, and Netscape 8.1. So it has to be in his code. I left ProHosting for the problems you mentioned above. They fixed their pages at 1024, but my site was fixed 800, tore it all to pices. it did.
