I have this idea for a really cool website but I don't have the time to run it or set it up myself. what do I do? Is there a website for this?

If you want you can share your idea here and see if someone would be interested in implementing it.

Or if it's something you want to sell... you can post it in the Market Place.

I don't know of any websites that caters to idea men. That would be nice though wouldn't it... Laughing out loud

gotta finish redesigning my sites so I can show them again.

Do you think I could make money from my idea? I don't want to blurt it out here and then realise I could've made some cash from it.

Well, if you have someone in mind that you want to work with you could pm them with your idea and see if they're interested.

I'm afraid I couldn't tell you whether you could make money or not.

lol, we can't say if you could make money from your idea if we don't know what the idea is. Wink If you're that concerned about it, don't tell us. If it's really a unique, original idea, you could draw up plans for it and possibly register it for copyright at the least. Then you might be able to sell the concept.

Either way, you're gonna have to put some time and effort into it to get anything out of it. Smiling

Another alternative is to find someone you trust very much and have them implement the idea... it could get complex, though, so that's why it has to be someone you can trust so they will be inclined to your gain. Wink

Fine, here's my idea (as long as the person who uses it promises to give my free advertising space)

People who want to make cash, or people who want to advertise will go to this site.
The people who want cash will go there, state which forum they are in and how much posts they do. They will then offer their forum as advertising space.
These will all be listed, with the most frequent posters costing more per month. The advertisers wil be able to advertise on the sigs!

Sounds like there will have to be some good coding (and human checking) going on to verify truthfullness here, but definately do-able.

The only advertising I've been involved with was finding sponsors for sites, so I don't have any idea about how much this would be worth.

Best of luck with this!
If you have patience and determination all kinds of great things could happen. Laughing out loud

One other thing.... not ment to pop your balloon...
If you're talking about putting ads in sigs on forums you don't controll then your administrator would also have to check with the forum owners to make sure what is allowed in the signatures.

Doesn't make the idea any less feasable... just another step that would have to be done.

Keep the ideas comming... that's what makes the rich and powerful what they are. Laughing out loud

We're not saying you have to run the site...
but if you want to make anything out of an idea, you need to work out the particulars and problems that can arise.

... unless you have a partner. Wink

Cool!

99% of my ideas end up as scribbles on scraps of paper stuffed around my house, so if you do better than that.... I applaud you!

Never give up the quest for originality. Laughing out loud

Signatures here are provided for the users. They are not billboards open to the highest bidder. Please keep in mind that selling your signature space to advertisers can result in your membership being revoked.

We do a lot of behind the scenes work to keep the noise and spam down so people can actually talk to each other without having to surf through that crap.

I have no idea whether it could acutally make money, but I think that's a good, innovative idea. :light:

However good ideas get taken by others so I'd move on it if you think it'll work. Go over a thorough business plan because even the best ideas with the best websites do nothing at all if nobody knows they're there. Advertising and self-promotion to get your site off the ground may eat what little bit of commission you squeeze out of the service.
