Im using WS_FTP pro my webamster has gave me an FTP Path does this mean i have to use the same programe as he has? His using Pure-FTPD.

You can use any FTP program, you need to know the FTP path, login/username & password and you'll also need to know what the main folder is on the server for you site.
Welcome to the boards by the way

Hi Nicole,
I'm also new to the forum, but experienced in being a webmaster and quite and extensive portfolio. But we'll save that for another time.
Anyways, let's get your FTP setup quickly for you. Using WS_FTP it's quick and simple.
Follow these instructions and you should be connected quickly:
1.) Open your ftp program.
2.) Top left corner click on File->Connect->Connection Wizard
3.) Name your new site in the FTP Program. (Ex: My Site) Click Next
4.) Then enter in your server address. (Ex: mysite.com or 66.52.48.164) Click Next.
5.) Then enter in your username and password for this site. (What you were given)
6.) Then click on next, next, next.
You should either see one of two things.
1.) You should be connected to your site and see things like
/etc/
/mail/
/public_html/
or see:
2.) An error message in connecting. If you get this message, double check your details.
If you have further problems, please post back here and I will assist you as much as possible. This should be a relatively easy task for you and you should be to connect quickly.
Thanks
