Hi

I am new to this forum but it looks very nice with polite webmasters who DONT flame!! omg!! lol

Well I have just setup my new hosting site zanga.co.uk and I am surprised since within the first few days, without any advertising at all, I have had around 80 unique hits, mostly from the usa when i live in the uk so it cant be most of my friends. I have no idea were these hits are coming from since I havent submited to google or anything.

Im not complaining just curious Sticking out tongue

So does anyone know where these hits may of come from?

Thanks a lot Joe

Why don't you check your stats program like Webalizer or Awstats?

Check the referers. See where they are coming from. Don't forget to update it.

You will get a lot of bots looking for form mail and phpbb weaknesses, ways they can spam.
keep an eye on your logs and block bots only by name, not by IP as most are faked and dont use/have a formmailer script. If you do, put it in a folder that is not for public

Its not bots cos awstats has a seperate section for bots and spiders and there are not hits in that section

i dont have a high opinion of awstats and webstats etc, they are very limited in what they do. You might have to get your hands dirty and go through your raw logs, then you can see what is really happening

Hit "Update Now" at the very top of Awstats on the right of the last update
