SSL Installation?
Hi am setting up a ecommerce website which will accept online payments, including credit cards and personal information. I want it to have the 128bit encryption SSL certificate but am unsure as to how it is installed to get the padlock in the bottom right hand corner and the 'https' in the address bar?
Help would be greatfuil.
Thanks.

First, are you running your own server, or are you having it hosted somewhere? If you are having it hosted somewhere, then the hosting company should be able to get you all set up with SSL access, expect to pay more per month.
Then you will need a site certificate. For more information, check out http://verisign.com/products-services/security-services/ssl/ssl-information-center/index.html
There is a yearly fee for these and for ecommerce are a must. (yes, some places still accept credit cards without them. One place when I contacted them about how to do a secure payment told me "With so many transactions today, it's not needed as odds of getting your info is way down". Needless to say, I never bought from them.
Another thing to consider, especially if you pay for your traffic, only put what you need on the SSL side, as it uses more traffice to send/recieve the info as just a normal https://.
