Spreading members about in drupal
I'm using Drupal (for the first time!) to build a handful of small community sites which will cover two geographical regions. Two aims for it is for some articles to be syndicated between the sites and members' login details and sessions to work across them all.
I can imagine how easily it could be done if they were all one site, divided into microsites, but my problem is I want each site to appear standalone with separate domain names, directories and no obvious connection.
Is there a way of setting one site up to do this? Alternatively, is there a drupal module that could transfer sessions and login details between sites?
Thanks!

First, I think you would benefit from using the multisite feature so you can spin the sites from the same codebase.
Then you could use the Multisite Login module
It's fine to ask for advice and help here, but you will probably find exactly what you are looking for more quickly by searching http://drupal.org

Thanks for the help, dbp. That looks very promising.
Regarding the drupal forums, sometimes the information can be everywhere and yet still be impossible to find if you aren't conversant with the terminology. In this case when I searched for microsites, I hit a dead end. If I'd searched for multisite, it would have been a different story.
The forums there are a wonderful resource, but so incredibly busy topics can be swept away before anyone can answer. Which is why an intimate friendly forum like this is better in many ways.
Anyway, thankyou again for the time yo took to reply to that. It's much appreciated.

We are always happy to help here
Drupal recently changed their search (and some other parts of the site).
In the right sidebar, you can filter search results by 1) Project (to check on modules and themes 2) Project Release (to check on new releases - you will more likely find the module you are trying to find with the Project filter) 3) Book page (which is likely to help you understand something better) 4) Issue (to see if someoone else has reported a similar problem with core, a module or theme and a possible solution)
Also you can easily view threads that you have posted to by using the tracker http://drupal.org/tracker/ and click on My Recent Posts
