Somethings wrong with port 80

Hello, I'm Brian and I'm new here,

I've been having a problem with my website for about a year now. And I've finaly decided its time to do something about it.

Im running Apache off my home computer to run my site. When others tried to go on my site they couldn't see it only I could see it. I know this because port 80 (default) isn't working. So i changed it to run on port 8080 instead. It works fine now. But now my site address appears:

http://68.108.71.108:8080/

Is there any way to fix this? I really want it to run on port 80, so others don't have to add the stupid :8080 at the end of my address. Is port 80 being blocked? Why can't others veiw my site when its configured that way? Whats going on? THank you, I hope you guys can help me with my problem.

Many cable/dsl hosts block port 80 so there is no way around it except using the 8080 solution. What you can do is configure a dns to automatically give you a name that is on port 80 that refers to your computer. So someone types in:
mydomain.com
and the dns calls the page from
mycomputer.host.com:8080
but they use never sees the 8080.
Try: http://dyndns.dk/

Good luck.

Actually dyndns.dk has changed so you cannot add the :8080 on the end. Well if you can find one that does let me know!
