Share your web programming woes.
No, not about web browser incompatibilities, we've all encountered that.
Tell me about some frustrations you've had when you have to work with someone in a web programming project or a job.
I'll start...
I do freelance work and I work for someone that wants to sell stuff online. She's in her early 60's and not very tech savvy. She's a very nice person and pays well, but it's difficult working for her. Her plans constantly changes. She doesn't present all her information to me (such as prices, pictures, products, product descriptions, etc.) and wants her website done in a matter of days. Even if I tell her that I want everything organized and presented to me... she doesn't do it, yet expects some kind of website ready. Even IF the information is available... I'm expected to change the entire website based on her indecisions as she has something else better in mind. Basically, her website never gets done.
Recently, she wants to sell jewelry online. She had taken some pictures, but I had to chime in and tell her that those pictures weren't that great as most of the pictures are blurry and the background of the pictures are red or black. Red background doesn't go well with her type of jewelry. In fact, look at any other websites that sell jewelry, 99% of the background is white or something similar to white. I later figured that she hates the color white and likes the color red. So I made a point that white is preferred as it doesn't distract the viewers away from the product and I also went through other sites selling jewelry to prove the point that other sites uses white background with her. I told her to re-take the pictures with more lighting and a choice of white or black background so everything stay consistent. So that pretty went on for 1 hour, trying to convince her that the pictures and its background needs to be changed. Seems like it went on forever.
