Secured how?

What kind of content are you trying to secure?
How secured does the content need to be?

Secure as in secure server for forms? Or secure as in password protection?

I think?
My web host allows me to protect my directories from my online control panel. It puts the these two files into the directory, although I'm unsure how to edit them myself to add multiple users and passwords...

Hope this helps

I agree with David. Check your control panel.

This is going to be something you'll want to check with your host with, since most offer this through the control panel, although some do not. If your host doesn't, you might try to find a script at cgi-resources.com under the password protection category. I'm sure you'll be able to find one that suits your needs.

Good luck!

Your host can password protect your site or should anyway.

There's also the option of SSL certificates for sercure transactions, your host should be able to either offer you a shared SSL certificate, or you can purchase it, or your host can purchase it for you.

Anyway I hope this helps.

i use a cgi program called am lite it allows me to enter names and passwords in using the cgi script and also sets up the .htaccess and .htpass in the specific folder. It is the easiest to use and setup and best of all its free. You can get a copy from hotscripts.com, it is a perl script.
