Running a Live Webcam off a Website?

I have never used a webcam and am not very familiar with them and was wondering if somebody could answer a few questions.

How would I need to go about setting this up with my website? Is this something that runs off my hosting account or directly off my ISP account?

Would I need to set up my FTP login information with the webcam software to upload the images to my site? Or, do I need to just set it up and link my website to the IP address of my ISP?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
