Question concerning visitor stats: 0 visit but ton of Kbs
Hi, I am a new webmaster i.e. I have recently launched my website and I am slowly learning the tricks and tips of being a webmaster.
Looking at my visitor stats, I realized that one ip address is killing all my bandwidth although it shows 0 visit.
My question is: how can someone use bandwidth if there is 0 visit?

Hi,
Well, the only thing I have on my site right now is a Flash game.
The file is around 4 Mb and an usual player uses between 4 and 10 Mbs (some players reload and visit other pages.)
This particular ip address used more than 200 Mb in 3 days. Although it is not a huge number in itself, it is relatively high if we compare with the size of the .swf file. I mean the guy certainely haven't played the game 50 times!!!!!!!
I looked him up on arin.net and this ip address has AOL as ISP in the US.
What could cause a 0 visit to use kbs?? I am not sure that I understand.
thanks for your help!

Direct linking could show 0 visits and kb usage, do you use a anti leech (hotlinking) script ? (is done in .htaccess file).
Also if you are able to view your raw logs (not webalizer or any of those -raw text file) have a look at the agent they are using, could be a bot script, if it is a bot you can also block that as well from .htaccess file.
