I've used a generator from dynamic to create drop down menus.

using dreamweaver, ive put it in my page and have tried to get them in the layout i want, but cant seem to get the alignment right as you will see here:

Im trying to get these layers inside the red table cell (to make a horizontal nav bar) and it's just not happening...any suggestions? ive tried adjusting the X and Y and L and T coordinates, but it's not happening. im not too familiar with nested layers and how to incorporate them into tables...even in dreamweaver they look a mess!! :batman:

Kelli look at this link and see if that is what you want...sorta.
Kelli menu test

On dynamic drive, if you will look at the code for the menu, that last section is suppossed to go just above your closing body tag . You had it elsewhere. Also, not sure what editor you use but in dreamweaver, those layer knock your tables all out of ka-wack when you are viewing it while working on it. But once you view it in the browser it looks ok.

Hope that will get you started. Not sure if that is the best way to do it but it seems to work in IE6.

that's cool...it helped. i managed to actually just do it in dreamweaver from scratch which was fine, but the prob is, these menus now are static and positioned in one place, so you can only really view it on a fixed page resolution.

b/c of the way my page is designed -- scalable and w/the table centered -- when you change the window size, the menus arent in line with the nav titles.

the script that i was working with earlier used all layers so it worked in that they would move around depending on the page size b/c the layers were nestled and relative to the nav title layers, but i couldnt figure out the alignment for the life of me.
for now i've just set my page at a certain size so that it wont change the menu positioning.

if you want to tell me what you think, have a look at how i've done it.

Looks good but you might want to move them down just about 2-3 pixels. look at the image and you will see that the pink background of the "biography" dropdown is covering up the gray line just a wee bit. Not a biggie but if you are a perfectionist...Laughing out loud

This isn't the place for a full critique of your site so I won't go over all my thoughts here. Be sure and post in the critique section if ya want to and let everyone tear it apart for you. Wink

One thing that I will mention now. I am looking at your site on 800X600 and the right hand side of the pop up screen is out of reach for me unless I move the whole pop up screen back and forth. Just something you might want to consider.

Just a suggestion Kelly, you have left off the scroll bars on your site, which is fine if you can add the + - for scrolling through text. I had a look on your guest book however and can't view past the second entry without highlighting the text and dragging down.

Nice site though, a first?

NO, not at all. That was the problem, I was a bit jealous. It looked too good for your first.

I noticed that you have a flash site also, but it isn't completed yet. Are you using Flash 5, or have you gone across to MX?

Cheers,

Justa
