both i can't get it to work i've just dled the files and extracted it but it don't work (it's also in a phpable directory)

once you have it set up, go to http://localhost/ (or http://127.0.0.1/) then to the phpadmin directory/folder

You have files to chmod too, as far as I can remember. Can you copy and paste the config files please. We can help you filling out the fields.
Basically, what you need is:
1 - Your database name 2 - Username 3 - db password
Set the the server to "localhost" and that's it.
