Outsourcing usability testing
Senior management at my company is *finally* paying some attention to our Web site! I had a lengthy meeting with the board member who has been appointed to oversee our strategy and tactics. He's actually willing to consider having an outside company do usability assessment and recommendations with our site, which is something I've been wanting to do for a long time. (We currently have nearly 3,000 pages on the site, and navigation is becoming increasingly complex, among other usability issues.)
So . . . . anyone have some good recommendations for a good company to talk to about this? I am contacting the Nielsen/Norman group first thing, of course, but our people are usually happiest if they're offered more than one choice, and I have no second choice. Anyone?
