Hi,
I was wondering if you could help, I work for a company and looking to have a new site designed and be completly database driven. This is the site:-
www.bes.co.uk I think it looks dated and the menu is quite tricky to use, I'm looking to have our new site follow the concept of what other sites do ie menu on left search, simple layout.

Also could any one help with giving me advantages of having a fully database driven site and how this would benfit a customer using the site?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

It looks very different form what I would do, but then again, this web is very big. Smiling It looks good: direct, quaint and no errors in sight.

As for your question, I'm not sure if I'm qualified enough to answer your question. I'm sorry. I could only guess two factors: page loading time and webmaster's organization/preference.

If it would be database driven, then maxwell is right to say it shaves off much of the loading time especially if you have massive content. Db usage also within your descretion, you can make CMS like editing available for your client...

Looking at the current site, it would be good to have a redesign, good luck with the job.

i dont think such a large font size is necessary for the text:
EXTRA PUMP
BUY FIVE GET ONE FREE.
Total £131.70
SAVE £21.95
SPECIAL PRICE £109.75
we usually see such large fontsize in print media etc.. and on web sites, it may not be necessary.
