Wow!! That's interesting that they did that. They must be getting a lot of traffic right now because I had trouble getting into the site. Good decision in the long run though - hopefully more people will try it out and start using it now
Why sorry though? I am happy to support a product I love. People seem to take free software for granted - there are a lot of people who have worked hard on that browser. They deserve some compensation. Actually, I wish there was a way to give more. People who are developing products that go the extra mile and push the web further and futher ahead should be supported IMO.
Just tried opera for the first time. Quite good. The difference between opera and IE are about the same as USA and UK - they're basically the same thing but it is the little differences that count.
I like that opera keeps all the new browser windows inside the application as thumbnail up the top an ddoesn't crowd the stat bar. It is also slightly faster, but not much (I'm on 128K might be better on 56K).
locatepeople - just give it a chance. It always takes awhile to get used to change. If you keep using it you'll discover more and more extra features. The US/UK comparison won't fly anymore after that!
Currently I use Firefox..but after playing around with opera a bit, it is pretty cool. I like that when you click a link, it always opens in the same window, whereas firefox by deafult opens it in a completely new window. Well.. I'll leave it as my deafult browser for a while and see how I like it. They are both 100000x better than IE.
That is so cool!!
Good job I stuck to firefox until now.
But Opera is just so much better!!

Yep!
I agree - I also like Opera better than IE. In fact, I like just about anything better than IE.
