Opera 9.61 - where did my bookmarks go?

I just upgraded to Opera 9.61 from 9.53

My bookmarks vanished (not all, a couple were left...) and cookies too, like the login for this site...

[EDIT - the bookmarks "came back" after I rebooted the computer and restarted Opera]

I suppose there is a custom installation option to preserve the older version's data? I am used to Firefox which does it automatically when you upgrade.

One more thing - has anybody else noticed that the LinkedIn site has a large unnecessary horizontal scroll in Opera?

Wow, my upgrade went fine. Maybe it's because I have Opera Sync switched on. Confused

Perhaps you could try making a backup of your .opera directory (or whatever directory Opera uses for storage in Windows) then installing version 9.60 again. Maybe your bookmarks weren't deleted, just ignored.

I even had a search on the tubes, but couldn't find anyone else that's having these problems.

Actually, the reappearing bookmarks were in my old Opera 9.53

I signed up for the Opera Sync account and reinstalled Opera 9.61 aqnd synced and now my bookmarks, history etc were transferred.

One more thing - Opera 9.61 has the same bug I reported for Opera 9.5x with Yahoo! Mail Beta - it will not work if Opera is placed in a directory named "Opera" but "Opera961" (for example) will work... (running on Vista Home Premium).

I reported this and tried to get error output on the release of Opera 9.5x but it is still a problem.

[EDIT - after reinstalling Opera in the default Opera dir & syncing, Opera works with Yahoo! Mail Beta]
